Arnav and Khushi are in the car driving back home.
"Khushi, we need to be more observable. Whenever we are talking to Maa and Baba we need to note what is their reaction. And maa talks to you so try and find out if in any way you can."
"Hmm" she nodded her head.
"Something is going in your head. What is it?" He could easily guess by her expression.
"How messy can it get Arnav that we are judging and noticing our own parent's reaction. Sorry to say but we are literally playing a game with our parents. A filthy game, what would be our winning prize even if we win this game? Either we will lose our parents trust and if not, then what could be more shameful than fooling our parents. This feels so disgusting, I..." She took a deep breath and closed her eyes.
"Khushi I totally understand what you are saying and trust me I have same thoughts as you have. But there is no point of feeling guilty now. We haven't started all this chaos. There are certain things that are not in our control. We tried telling the truth, we tried convincing them but they didn't agree. You know I have never believed in luck and destiny. I always had this belief that I make my own destiny but sometimes I really want to believe that we are puppets of destiny,
We can't just control everything. We are unsure of the outcomes but lets us do best of what we can do reduce this damage if we know that we can't stop this happening." Arnav said keeping a hand over her hand just to assure her. She nodded her head.Soon they reached Shantivan. Arnav rings the bell. Nandini opens the door. Khushi touches her feet. They all go inside. Mahendra was reading the newspaper a cup of tea kept at the table. He was ready to go office.
"Baba? Why are you going to the office today?" Arnav asked.
"Kapoors have changed their date of tender from tomorrow to today so I am going to the office for putting up that deal," Mahendra told him.
"What but how come this change suddenly? Did you talk to Aman?" Arnav questions.
"Yes, I did he told me that you had already asked him to prepare
the presentations and told him about the quotations too but since it was scheduled to next day. So he is working on the presentation and if changes are required he will make them once I see them." He told."When I am here why would you go, Baba? You just tell me when is the meeting?" Arnav said.
"It's okay Arnav, Shashi told me you people were awake all night. You, people, need rest. I will handle the meeting." Mahendra told him.
"There is nothing like that you know that. Just tell me the time or actually I should confirm it with Aman." Arnav said and was about to call when Mahendra said.
"Ohho! You are so adamant Arnav, fine the meeting will start at 2." Mahendra informed him.
"Cool, I will freshen up then." With that, he moves upstairs. Nandini gestures Khushi to go upstairs too.
"You also freshen up Khushi, then we all can have breakfast together," Nandini said.
"Okay, Maa, let me make breakfast first then I will freshen." With that, she gets up to head to the kitchen but is stopped by Nandini who tells her that it was already cooked. So she finally went upstairs.
She sits on the couch as Arnav had already occupied the washroom. She opens her mails if there was something important. She will join the office back from the next day. She goes towards the cupboard and takes out her suitcase. She was thinking about which Saree to wear today.
