WARNING- SPOILERS TO RISE OF SKYWALKER
yall probably already know what happens but just in case.
yeet. i'm trying to upload all my drafts in the next week or so.
"Rey."
Jacen looks over to his mother, seeing she was obviously frustrated with the battle. Her piloting skills were still the best in the galaxy, despite her age, but he could see by the look on her face she felt as though they were losing.
Jacen felt the same way. But that voice, the one calling for that Rey girl. That voice gave him hope.
"Rey."
Jacen raised a brow, "Ahsoka..?" he muttered to himself. Hera looked over to him,
"Focus, please!"
There were other voices, ones Jacen didn't know. He could recognize Ahsoka, and what he thought was Obi-Wan Kenobi. Was that Luke too? He couldn't tell.
"As it guided us."
Jacen placed his hand on his temple, his head pounding. Hera yelled something, but he didn't hear her. More voices.
"Feel the force flowing through you."
Who was that?
"Let it lift you."
His voice. That man. His was familiar.
"Rise Rey."
Who is she?!
Hera turned to him, noticing his was in pain. Her eyes widened, "Jacen!?" He didn't hear her.
" We stand behind you Rey."
"Rey."
"Rise in the force."
Who are these people?!!
"In the heart of the Jedi lies her strength."
Hera felt tears in her eyes. Somehow, she heard his voice too. Somehow. She blinked a few times, the world blurring around her.
"Kanan..."
"Rise."
"Rise."
"Rey. The force will be with you. Always."
Jacen didn't understand. How was he hearing people who weren't there? It was only Rex, his mother, Chopper, and himself on the Ghost.
Ahsoka was off on her own, doing whatever she does on her "secret" missions.
Luke Skywalker died.
Obi-Wan Kenobi was an old legend to Jacen.
Kanan. The name his mother barely could say. He heard his name before, but he didn't know who he was. He knew his mother was close to him. And that she missed him. That's all.
His head continued to feel like it was pounding. It felt like it was going to explode. He closed his eyes, a tear or two falling down his face.
Something was there. Like, in the back of his mind. Someone? No. Yes.
Jacen yelled, almost screamed, and collapsed to the floor. Hera felt like she was frozen,
"Jacen?!"
The last time something like this happened, at least, she thought, was to Ahsoka when they were being chased by the Sith lord in the TIE. Hera blinked away her tears, holding more back,
"Chopper!" she yelled, "Chopper, help him!"
There was a battle to be fought.
---
"Mom?" Jacen placed his hand on his forehead, it was still pounding, but not as bad. Hera brushed some of his hair out of his face,
"Easy..." she muttered, "it's over now."
"What happened?" he weakly sat up, with her help. She frowned,
"I'm not sure," She sighed, wrapping an arm around him, "next time Ahsoka's around, I want you to talk to her."
"Okay," he looked down, unsure if it was okay to ask this question. He chose to do so, "mom... was Kanan my dad?"
Hera looked to him, stunned. She placed a hand over her mouth, unsure what to say. Jacen grabbed her hand, but she shook her head, sniffling,
"I didn't want to tell you..."
"Was he?"
She nodded, "He died a long... long time ago."
"Why didn't you tell me?" Jacen looked to her. His mother never told him about his father. After thirty five years of living, nothing, except that he died before he was born.
Hera looked to him, letting out a cry, "I couldn't. I couldn't..."
He frowned, hugging her, "I wish I could have met him."
She held him, "You're a lot like him..." She smiled a teary smile, "you two would have got along."
"And Ezra?" He rose a brow, "who was he?"
Hera kissed his cheek, "He was Kanan's padawan. And... he was like a son to Kanan and I."
"So, if he's alive, we're brothers?"
Hera nodded, "Yeah..."
Jacen nodded, "Dad was a jedi?"
"The best there could be."
"Were you?" he looked her in the eyes, "are you?"
She shook her head, "No, thank the force."
"Did dad know Luke?"
Hera forced a smile, Jacen had always been curious. Just like Ezra...
"No, he didn't," she sighed, "get some rest. It's been a long day."
"Mom. I have so many questions..."
"I know you do," she stood up, "save them for another time, okay? I don't think I'll have all the answers."
"Mom. I heard my dad's voice today."
"So did I."
"Please. I want to know more about him."
Hera turned to her hologram, turning it on. She opened an old file.
A man appeared, wearing a mask and his hair tied into a ponytail. Hera said something, but Jacen wasn't really paying attention. He watched the man, listening to his voice,
"The Empire is moving Sabine's father to the Mandalorian capital of Sundari."
Hera held back tears, listening to his voice. She sat down next to Jacen, remembering the man she loved.
If only you could see him. If only you could see how Sabine grew up. And see how peaceful Lothal is. If only you could be here to help find Ezra.
If only.
