The Joker's Point of ViewThis life is over. I had nothing to live for. My soulmate and child were dead, and my body felt numb from the fact.
I took Harley to an ACE chemical factory, looking forward to hearing her screams as the acid burned away at her skin. I held her towards the edge of the railing, my eyes dark as coal while my scared lips stretched into an evil smile.
"Any last words Harley?" I grunted out, my hold on her painfully tight.
Her baby blue eyes looked at me with a mixture of fear and anger. "Killing me won't bring her back," she says between her teeth. "Let me replace her—"
I snatch her hair and bring it face closer to mine, making her cry out in pain and fear. "You will never be her."Harley's eyes fall into a glare. "You're right, I'm much better," she snaps.
Before I could react, Harley head-butts me right in the face, twisting out my hold and flipping over my shoulder. With her tied hands, Harley pushes on my chest and my feet slip from the edge.
I don't try to stop myself as I begin to fall. If I die, it wouldn't matter. Not anymore.
I begin to fall, straight down into a vault of burning acid. I don't scream, all I could do was giggle as I felt my skin burn from the outside in. I expected it to be more painful, but after a few seconds my skin grew numb. I laid at the bottom for what felt like hours, just staring up through the acid as Harley smirked down at me.
As she turns to leave, I felt a sudden surge of strength engulf into me and I shot up and out of the acid. I spit the liquid from my mouth out and reached for the side of the tub. My vision felt enhanced and as I looked at my skin, I went from a dark tan to a pale white.
I pulled myself out, my clothes dissolving off my body. I land outside the container, perfectly on my feet. I inhaled deeply, feeling as if I had grown stronger. I touched my bare chest, wondering if the acid had any affect on my soulmark. To my amazement, the crown still marked my skin, although it was still cold.
I run out of the room and find myself walking towards a bathroom, desperate to see if my appearance had changed along with my skin. Luckily, I found a mirror, although broken, to help me out.
I couldn't help but flinch at my appearance, the face paint had seemingly stained my skin permanently. I reached down to turn the water on, splashing the cold water against my skin to remove the color.
No luck.
My hair was dyed green, a brighter green than I normally had it. Dark circles outlined my eyes and my lips were permanently red. The biggest change? The scars that marked my skin ever so ugly had vanished, leaving just a line of red stains.
I touched my face, realizing that these were the affects of the acid. I looked like a completely different person.
I reach down to turn the facet off when suddenly the metal bar snapped off. I brought it up and looked at it in question. Had I grown stronger?
You're like a super hero now, idiot.
Shut up, I'm a villain remember?
A super villain.
A smile spreads across my face. A giggle begins to bubble out of my throat before turning into an unstoppable roar of psychotic laughter.
My fist shoots out to smash aha ain't the already broken mirror. The glass didn't slice my skin and it only made me laugh harder.
Jack was officially dead. Any once of humanity died in that vault of acid. Gotham thought they had a taste of the Joker?
They hadn't seen anything yet.
