Separated

Evy P.O.V

After our celebration, I had to return the next morning. The entire ride we were holding hands & trying to enjoy our last moments. Ozy thought that it was best for me to leave him until the cops let him go. He didn't want me to risk my freedom since Bruce was still a mess. We both knew that he needed me to avoid him making the same mistakes. I just hated the idea of being separated. It would mean that I couldn't protect him. He would be on his own with nothing as the police viscously hunted him. To avoid a fight, we were hiding our promise rings. He had a simple silver band with 'her weirdo' written on the inside while mine said 'his crazy'.

When we pulled into the back, Bruce & Alfie were already waiting. They helped me get out once the car was parked. Ozy was given the regular cold treatment by them. However, they lightened up a bit when they saw I was fine. Alfie gave him a quick handshake as thank you while Bruce just nodded. I was quickly rushed inside for some family time.

They asked me about what happened last night. I was tempted to lie but figured that two lies would be worse. I confessed that we killed Galavan by the river. They were shocked by my savagery but understood my actions. I did my best to downplay the enjoyment to deter Bruce from mimicking me. However, I could sense that he was slowly creeping to the dark side. I uneasily returned to my room as my mind raced about Bruce & Ozy's well beings.

"You did well against Galavan, considering the immense odds. I am proud & impressed." Ras complimented me

"Thank you, Ras. I was always worried of disappointing you. I'd hate to waste your time." I replied as I scanned the room

"No my dear, your efforts have been appreciated. I am impressed by your dedication to your training with Zsasz & your clever witt to keep your crown. Your talents can be refined so much more in my organisation." Ras offered as he snuck up behind me

"What's the catch to joining your little club, huh? I assume that you don't take in anyone, especially rich kids." I questioned

"Smart girl, you're right about my selectivity. I only take in students who hold promise in martial arts & a strong indifference to violence. To save the world, I need the best people. You desire discipline to be a good mentor for your brother & save him from the same darkness in you. I can teach you to control your darkness & harness it for change. You could make a world where families are no longer separated & cruelly fractured. Will you embrace your destiny or continue your same patterns?" Ras offered as his lackey stepped forward

"When do we start?" I happily replied

"This summer, in Tibet. We will send you a retreat pamphlet to convince your butler to release you. My colleague: Mr. Slade Wilson, will be your handler & help prepare your for your training in the meantime. Congratulations & welcome to the League of Shadows." Ras informed me

"Thank you, master, for this wonderful opportunity. I appreciate you & Mr. Wilson taking a chance on me." I thanked both of them

"You're welcome, my dear. We wouldn't have extended this offer if it wasn't well deserved. Have a good night." Ras replied before they vanished. Now, I was too curious & hyper about my new training to sleep.

Oswald P.O.V

It was hell being away from Evy. But, it was better for her own safety to be away & for me to take the fall. It didn't take long for the GCPD to crack down on my empire. With both of us gone, it was easy to crack & break apart. I kept low in the slums & was constantly living in a new place. Selina gave me a few helpful tips for surviving on the street. The cops were squeezing all of our hideouts & viscously searching for me. Eventually, the GCPD caught me while I was changing safehouses.
