Tachibana Makoto x Reader: Not So Bad

Thank you to the few of you who have been reading and voting. If you know anyone please spread the word about my story. I only started this because I thought Free! was a really popular anime and it would be perfect to write a fanfiction on it. Though I shouldn't be complaining, this is just the beginning and as time passes by people will eventually read this. Anyways, here is chapter 4!

Your POV

My hands and feet gripped on the platform, as the 3 of us were about to dive in. I was in the middle, with Makoto to my right and Nagisa to my left with Rei and Haru spectating. I remembered loving to swim as a little kid and being pretty good at it. Though years have passed and I didn't know if I was still good.

"GO!" Gou called out and the 3 of us dived into the pool.

I felt my hands slice the water as my whole body got wet. This sensation felt great. I wiggled my body and raised to the surface as I began to do the front crawl. This was a freestyle warm-up and it was my first impression to the boys. I continued to swim taking huge breaths. Soon I felt my hands touch the wall, and it was over. I stood up and removed my goggles, hyperventilating. Makoto got out of the water and bent down towards me, holding out his hand.

"Thanks," I said as I gladly took his hand and he pulled me up. Haru, Rei, and Gou came over to us.

"So how did I do?" I asked, still breathing heavily.

"Your swimming was pretty good," Gou told me and Rei followed up with, "It was such a beautiful form and sight to see."

"You finished last though," Haru jumped in. "You lack stamina."

"Haru..." Makoto began, but I cut him off.

"It's alright. I'm pretty out of shape. I'll work on my stamina I promise!" I declared feeling pumped up. Haru's mouth formed into a smile and I felt accomplished.

"Alright, now it's Rei and...." Gou was about to finish, but Haru was already one step ahead of her. He dived into the pool and swam freestyle to the other side.

I couldn't help but laugh. This might not be so bad afterwards.

*Timeskip* Your POV

It was around 6 and practice was over. I had such a blast today swimming with the guys. They were so helpful and supportive, helping me train and improve my stamina. I was tired after hours of swimming and needed a break.

"(y/n), here." Makoto came over and held out a can of soda.

"Thank you." I took his offer and opened it. Makoto sat next to me and stretched.

Oh my god, why you do this!? Those arms, those muscles, that body!!!!!!

"I'm tired," Makoto told me as he continued stretching, showing off his flawless body.

"Haha...yea..." I was lost in his eyes. Goddamit stupid hormones!

Makoto let out a yawn and I giggled at his cute face. The moment was ruined when Nagisa came running over.

"HEY MAKOTO, (y/n), LET'S GO OUT AND EAT!" Nagisa suggested and Makoto and I looked at each other.

"Alright, sounds good!" I beamed and Makoto laughed.

*At Karaoke* Makoto POV

Nagisa, (y/n), Haru, Rei, and I decided to go Karaoke knowing it was Friday and we didn't have school tomorrow. Gou had to do some errands, so she wasn't able to make it.

"Thank you guys for inviting me. I hope I'm not too much trouble," (y/n) said as we entered our room.

"Nah, we love hanging out with you," Nagisa said as he tackled her.

(y/n) looked at me and I smiled. She turned away as her face began to tint with red causing me to blushed too.

"What should we order?" I asked as I picked up a menu. The list of food included many appetizers, like sushi, fried chicken balls, rolls, etc.

"I'm ordering everything on the list," Nagisa announced as he stomach grumbled from hunger.

"Nagisa don't be silly. We can't afford all of that," Rei told him, but Nagisa ignored him.

"It's alright. This is all on me," (y/n) said and flashed a smile.

"Ahh really (y/n)?!" Nagisa beamed as his eyes filled with gluttony.

"We can't let you do that. You don't have to pay for all of us," I said, but (y/n) shook her head.

"It's fine really. I don't mind."

She's so generous and kind.....

Then a waiter entered our room and asked for our orders. Everyone ordered their heart's delights and everyone was happy except Haru, because apparently they didn't have mackerel so he went with the fishballs.

When our food arrived we ate and sang songs and had a blast. The room was enlightened with (y/n)'s melodious voice and with laughter in matters of seconds. We also took a bunch of crazy pictures and selfies. (y/n) even gave me her phone number and I got really excited. Soon, the night was over and we were all really sad.

"AWWWWWW," Nagisa pouted as he checked the time. 10:58

"I had an awesome time!" (y/n) told everyone. "I hope we can hang out again."

"Of course we can hang out again, (y/n)," I said and (y/n)'s face filled with joy.

"Alright, we should get going. It's pretty late," Haru notified us and we all agreed.

*************************

I laid down on my bed with my phone in my hand. 12:02 I looked at all the pictures we took tonight and everyone seemed to have enjoyed themselves. Then I remembered I had (y/n)'s phone number so I chose a picture of her to use for my contacts. I found the perfect picture of me and (y/n) laughing and smiling. It made me so happy to see her smiling and enjoying herself.

Then I got a text. I checked it and saw it was from (y/n).

"Hey Makoto, I just want to thank you for giving me the best night ever."

I wrote back:

"Haha, no worries. Anything to make you happy."

My phone vibrated and another message showed:

"You're the best. I'm going to go to sleep now. Good night!"

I smiled.

"Alrite, Sleep Tight."
