I suck at angst.

As she sat in the castle waiting for her fiancé to return, she felt hopeless. He was on yet another of his father's missions. Her heart as empty, her mind not wanting to do anything but sit there and think. She was always upset, or nothing at all. She read books as a past time but she never liked them in particular. She wanted to be happy, she really did, it just feels so hopeless when your stuck as a chess piece for your kingdom. Once Leo arrived he opened the door looking at his soon to be wife. He didn't know what to do so he ignored her a lot. She sat there like a doll, no reaction to him coming home at all. She read until dinner, which she didn't attend much of, then headed to bed. Something was bothering her. She didn't want to be like this, she wanted to change. Words of hatred she threw at herself as she tried to sleep.  She started to sniffle then cry. Leo was going to grab a book before bed but he heard her cry. He opened the door slightly and looked at her bed, she was curled up crying.

"Y/N? " Leo called out, no answer from her, he knew he deserved that for ignoring her everyday. "Y/N would you like some comfort? " Leo asked. No answer again, all he heard was sniffles. He sat on the edge of her bed and scooted next to her. He took out a handkerchief and wiped her face. He didn't know what to do at all.

"L-Leo? " Y/N crackled, "what're you doing? " She asked him. His hand calmed her down tremendously.

"I heard sniffles from your room.. I'm sorry I don't know what else to do, I wish I did.. " Leo told her.

"Can you do this more often? I.. don't mean to bother you it's enough if you do this... and thank you for now..I love you. " Y/N confessed, Leo was surprised but gave her a warm smile.

"Of course, whatever I can do. " Leo replied, he pet her head making her have a slight smile appear on her face. "I er.. love you too.. " Leo told her his face bright red.

Everyday from that point on he would come home or just in the morning he would hug her, hold her hand, or pat her head. They soon began to truly fall in love with eachother. Y/N would still cry and panic but Leo was always there next to her. Once Corrin had left both nations Leo was busy out of his mind. So secretly she asked his sister Elise how to heal so she could join him on the battle field. She didn't want to kill so healing was the best way for her. Luckily Y/N was able to heal pretty well before Leo had departed.

"I'll be back hopefully, I love you.. " Leo said as he was about to leave.

"No.. you can't leave without me! I can heal now! I can be of use!" Y/N complained. Leo hesitated.

"I.. you've never wanted anything this big before.. I.. I'll let you go as long as you stay near my retainers at all times. " Leo demanded.

"As long as I'll be with you I'm fine with anything. " Y/N replied to him. They embraced eachother as Leo rubbed her back.

"I'll protect you with my life. " Leo told her.
