Kliff had been called over by Alm for something he wanted Kliff to do. Kliff knocked on the door waiting for someone to open the door.

"There's our Best magic user in the whole army! " Alm complemented Kliff.

"Why is that the first thing you tell me, just get to the point Alm. " Kliff said, Alm nodded.

"You see Kliff, a soldier saw your magical abilities and wanted to learn some so they could get better in battle. I couldn't turn them down.. haha.. " ,Alm answered Kliff, he raised his eyebrow.

"Who exactly is this soldier? " Kliff asked Alm.

"Her name is Y/N. She'll be here in a few, also she's really quiet, a friend of hers had to tell me this. So try not to scare her too much. " Alm replied, Kliff rolled his eyes but got straight back into it.

"How much experience does she even have with magic? " Kliff questioned, Alm let out a nervous laughter.

"I don't know, all I know is that she wants to learn magic and that she's extremely quiet. " Alm responded putting his hands up in defense. They heard the door creek, the two males directed their attention over there. A girl came in with a shy expression "there she is! " Alm announced and patted her head, she pushed his hand away and looked away from Alm and looked up to Kliff. He was so handsome to her, she's seen him in battle but she's never been this close.

"Hello. " Kliff greeted her, a bit annoyed. She waved at him and looked down at the ground.

"Well I'm needed elsewhere, you two get along! " Alm said as he exited the room. Kliff let out a sigh and looked at her more closely. She seemed normal.

"Hey, we're going to need to communicate to do this. " Kliff told her. Y/N looked at him nervously, she shook her head. "Alright, I'll just tell Alm you quit. " Kliff said and started to walk out, before he could even get to the door she was in front of it shaking her head once again. She put up her finger indicating for him to wait. "What the.. " He mumbled as the girl dashed outside. He leaned onto the walls waiting for her to come back. Almost falling asleep, until the door slammed open, another person came in with Y/N this time.

"Huh? " he mumbled opening his eyes slowly. It was Y/N with another person besides her. They looked pissed.

"So you're the oh so great mage I hear about? " F/N hissed at Kliff.

"Yeah, and what about it? " Kliff hissed back. Y/N looked worried and whispered something into her friends ear, followed by a sigh from F/N.

"Alright.. I'm F/N, and I'm here to help Y/N feel more comfortable with you. " F/N informed Kliff.

"Alright then, let's go. " Kliff demanded, while walking to outside F/N, behind Kliff, kept pretending to hit or kick him. Y/N let out a small giggle as F/N kept going until Kliff turned around. "What're you guys doing? " Kliff mumbled as he raised his eyebrow. Y/N crossed her arms to tell him that everything's fine. "Alright then. " Kliff replied as they finally got outdoors. "Alright, F/N you sit down over there and Y/N can practice on air. " Kliff commanded, F/N glared at him for a second but sat down on the wall anyways.

Time skip because I don't know how magic works.

After a few hours Y/N had finally been able to cast a decent amount of flames from her bare hands, for the first day. Y/N was panting and extremely sweaty.

"I think we should stop for today. " Kliff suggested. Y/N shook her head and tried again, still the same amount of flames came out of her palms. "Stop. " Kliff thundered, even shocking F/N. Y/N looked over at Kliff with a defeated look.

"Hey don't talk to Y/N that wa—" F/N was about to say until Y/N put her hand in front of them and shook her head.

"I-I'm f-fine.. " Y/N mumbled to F/N. Once Y/N spoke his eyes widened, he thought the girl was mute but guess not.

"Y/N we should go like he said. " F/N suggested, Y/N nodded.

"Thanks.. " Y/N worded out to Kliff as she waved good bye with a weak smile, Kliff returned the wave as the two headed back inside. Kliff slid down the cold stone wall and let out a loud sigh.

A few weeks later

It was after a battle and it was the first Kliff allowed Y/N to use magic on the battle field. She ran up to Kliff with the biggest grin he's ever seen. She started to jump up and down while laughing, Kliff put on a grin.

"Maybe I don't need to teach you anything now, " Kliff told her, he ruffled her hair making, but hearing what he said made her happiness fade. "Huh..? Did I say something? " Kliff inquired her.

"I.. I want to stay with you.. " Y/N mumbled out but still loud enough for Kliff to hear. His cheeks burned red, he gave her a weak flick on her forehead.

"Don't say that just to anyone, alright? " Kliff nagged, in truth Kliff slowly fell for this quiet girl, but for the whole journey they stayed near eachother, never seen apart again. After the war was finally over and everyone had left back to wherever they pleased. Before Y/N was going to bid farewell to Kliff he had to talk to her, proclaiming his love. A few nights after that they were never seen again in Valentina.
