38. Dinner Date

Bonnie P.O.V
I walked with Finn to our biology class. I entered the room and see Pete.
He looks at me with a small smile and continues to stare at me until I sit down.
I quickly glance at him once I've settled down. I'm on high alert as I make eye contact with Pete.
I can't believe he told Marceline that he loved her.
Marceline has been quiet aswell ever since meeting up with Pete.
We have been talking but not as normal.
I take no notice in class as draw random things in my note book.
I feel Pete's eyes burn into me as the bell rings.
I pack all my stuff up and get my bag.
"Bonnie can you stay behind please" Pete tells me.
I nod my head and go to stand by his desk.
"Don't bother waiting for me" I tell Finn.
"Okay see you later" Finn says and leaves the class.
It's only me and Pete in the class and I feel kind of nervous.
"How's Marceline" Pete asks me.
"We haven't been talking much, she's been distant" I reply honestly.
"Look Bonnie if I made things awkward between you and Marceline then I'm sorry" Pete mumbles to me.
"You love her, why didn't you tell her when she liked you" I ask him.
"I couldn't do that to Ash but thinking about it now I should have told her because Ash treated her like crap" Pete tells me.
"I don't know what to do now,  me and Marceline  have this awkwardness now ever since you two spoke to eachother" I tell Pete.
"What should I do"? I ask Pete.
"What about a dinner date" Pete suggests.
"I've already asked her to go out and she said she was busy" I say in frustration.
"Well trick her, say it's a business meeting or something" Pete says.
"Okay fine just help me set it all up" I tell Pete.
Me and Pete spend the rest  of the day planning the perfect date for Marceline.
We got Rose to trick Marceline into thinking that she has a meeting in a fancy restaurant and I planned to have the dinner outside while the sun was about to set.
We would have candles and Marcy's favourite food for dinner.

"Thank you for all the help" I tell Pete as I get up from my seat.
"No problem I just want both of you to be happy" Pete says to me.
"You will find someone" I say and put my hand on his shoulder.
"Maybe one day" Pete mumbles and looks away from me.
I leave the class room and head home, preparing myself for the surprise date.

Once I am at my house I start to get ready.
I put on a light pink knee high skirt with a cropped white top. I paired that with a white bag and white heels.
I curled my long pink hair and put on some makeup.
"I actually look okay" I say and smile as I look into the mirror.
I text Rose to ask if Marceline was ready and then I set off.
I step outside and I see Finn in his car.
I run over and get in.
"You look nice" Finn tells me.
"Thank you" i reply and look out the window.
We arrive at the restaurant and I start to feel nervous.
"Thanks for the ride" I say to Finn.
"No problem just tell Rose that I'm here okay" Finn tells me.
"Sure" I reply and get out.
I make my way inside and see Rose waiting for me.
"Finn's outside" I tell her.
"Okay thanks, have fun" Rose tells me and walks away.
I walk to the outside area and see Marceline.
She's dressed in all black with her black leather jacket standing out the most.
"Marceline" I say lowly.
"Bonnie do you think I'm stupid, I knew you did this, it was so obvious" Marceline mumbles.
I sit down in the sit opposite her and place my bag on the table.
"Look I want us to work, it isn't if you avoid me. What Pete said must be a shock to you and I get it but not talking to me or wanting to be around me is starting to drive me crazy" I angrily say to her.
"It seems like you're not interested anymore about us, how are we supposed to marry when you won't even look at me anymore" I spit out.
"Bonnie you're being over dramic, I'm looking at you right now" Marceline rolls her eyes at me.
I fold my arms together and look out at the view.
I hear Marceline sign and get up.
"Where you going"? I mumble.
"I'm getting a drink" Marceline says and walks away.
She comes back a few minutes later with a beer and a glass of coke.
"Here" She mumbles and places it in front of me.
She sits down again as I sip my drink.
"I'm sorry for everything, my head was just confused by all this and that lead me to push you away, can you forgive me " Marceline asks.
"Just promise not to do it again, I couldn't cope not seeing you for 2 weeks" I say to her.
"Fine" Marceline laughs.
"Good" I laugh and reach over to grab her hands.
"Do you want to leave"? I ask her.
"Yeah the staff aren't really good are they" Marceline laughs and gets up.
We leave the restaurant and go to get a Chinese inside.
We walk back to Marceline's house hand in hand, ready to push the past behind them for good.
