CHAPTER 49 - BATTLE OF THE BONDS!

Previously in Pokemon Chaos and Order...

"So now it's an even match..." Kevin murmured as he drew out another Pokeball. "Not for long... GARCHOMP! LET'S GET GOING!" He exclaimed before hurling his Pokeball forward, releasing his Garchomp. "Alright! Use Brave Bird!" Ash commanded. "Dragon Rush!" Kevin counter-commanded.

Talonflame then flew at Garchomp, surrounded by a blue, pixelated aura while Garchomp rushed over at Talonflame, its body surrounded by a blue and purple, dragon-shaped aura.

Talonflame's Brave Bird collided with Garchomp's Dragon Rush, creating a huge explosion in the middle of the battlefield. Despite Talonflame having the speed advantage due to its Gale Wings Ability, Garchomp was able to counter that with a pretty effective attack, moving at a decent enough speed.

When the dust cleared, Talonflame and Garchomp were flung backwards from the force of the collision of these two powerful moves. Talonflame took a bit more damage, due to Brave Bird's recoil, but it was still capable of battling.

"And despite the collision of these two powerful moves, neither Pokemon are backing down!" Said the announcer. "Alright Talonflame use Steel Wing!" Ash commanded without wasting a second. Talonflame's wings expand and glow a metal-gray color. Talonflame then charges at Garchomp.

"Use Sandstorm!" Kevin commanded. Garchomp the begins to glow several different colors and then stomps down onto the ground, causing sand to swirl out from under it in all directions, spreading across the entire battlefield.

Talonflame's ability might not be Keen Eyes but as a skilled hunter (biologically), its eyes are able to withstand the Sandstorm and keep charging forward. However, as soon as Talonflame was about to hit Garchomp, Garchomp's body turned into sand and completely disappeared into the Sandstorm, much to Talonflame's shock.

"What the?!" Ash cried out in shock, also finding it hard to see because of the Sandstorm. "Garchomp's Ability is Sand Veil!" Kevin explained. "It'll be really hard for you to hit it while a Sandstorm is raging!"

Ash gritted his teeth as Talonflame was hit by the Sandstorm, damaging it. 'Sandstorm will keep eating away at Talonflame's health...' Ash thought. 'And with that Sandstorm on it'll be too hard to hit Garchomp! It's just like...' Suddenly Ash remembered something. 'Just like the time I battled Clay!' He realised.

"Might not be the same case but I can always improvise!" Ash murmured. "TALONFLAME! FLY ABOVE THE SANDSTORM AND THEN SEND A BARRAGE OF RAZOR WIND!" Ash commanded. Talonflame did just that and flew high above the Sandstorm. Talonflame flew back and began to flap its wings, causing its wings to glow white. Talonflame then repeatedly slashes the air in front of it, causing a barrage of powerful crescent-shaped blades of wind to blast forward.

The blades of wind then hit the raging Sandstorm and blow it away, clearing the Battlefield. Kevin and the audience gasped. "And Ash once again doesn't fail to surprise us!" Said the announcer. "I had no idea you could clear a Sandstorm with Razor Wind!"

"That was a surprise..." Kevin murmured. "Use Iron Head!" Kevin commanded. Garchomp lowers its head and the star on forehead/snout turns into iron. Garchomp' head then becomes surrounded by a white aura (with black sparks), making it seem black and white. Garchomp then rushes over at Talonflame.
