3rd POV

It was a typical day at Beacon, the cafeteria was busy and the students ate their lunches without incident. A new head was in the crowd, he was sitting by himself near the wall at the end of a table starring down at the plate of food. His (h/c) hair didn't even hide his black with a little white animal ears. (Y/n) (L/n), he was a rare type of faunas, a honey badger. The only one who really paid any attention to the loner was Blake who occasionally looked up from her book at the boy who didn't move and when someone did try to talk to him he responded harshly and everyone developed a poke it with a stick attitude about him. Sighing the black haired female watched as he drove yet another person away "What's up with you?" Weiss asked her teammate "The new kid seems really antisocial" and the heiress looked over as he got up to leave "If he wants to be alone then let him be" Weiss said as Cardin stood up blocking (Y/n)'s path "Can you move?" He asked obviously annoyed "Your gonna have to speak up, I can't hear you" Cardin said mocking him leaning down putting his ear closer to him "Can you move" (Y/n) repeated as Cardin hit his tray of food into his face. Laughing Cardin failed to notice that (Y/n)'s eyes turned red, Cardin turned to mock him again but (Y/n) slugged him in the jaw with enough force to knock him down and move back a few feet. Cardin sat up holding his jaw which was swollen and bleeding "Thank you" (Y/n) said digging his heel into Cardins hand as he walked by. Most of the cafeteria didn't notice but the few that did moved in now knowing just how short a fuse (Y/n) has. Weiss was one of the few who did notice along with Blake "What kind of faunas is he? I've never seen one react like that" Weiss asked out loud "He's a honey badger, he's just that aggressive naturally" Blake said shutting her book and putting it under her arm "Where are you going?" The heiress asked her friend "I'm gonna try to see if he'll open up, can't hurt to try, plus I want to congratulate him on knocking Cardin down with one hit" Blake said and Weiss sighed and stood up "You saw what he did when he was only slightly annoyed, at least let me go with just in case" Ruby and Yang were otherwise occupied with building a house out of plates and forks. Leaving they wandered around the academy and found him leaning against a tree napping "Oh he's asleep, oh well, can't say we didn't try" Weiss said and Blake stopped the hairless by grabbing her hand and gesturing to (Y/n) who was looking up at them with a harsh glare "What?" he said coldly "We just saw you here by yourself and we thought-" he stopped Blake by scoffing "I like being alone, get lost" he said harshly "Rude" Weiss said under her breath but (Y/n) mocked her "Rude" he said in a high pitched girly voice. Weiss glared at the boy and he returned it in full and then some "Whats your problem?" Weiss asked as (Y/n) stood up "You, you currently are my problem" he said looking down at Weiss since he was slightly taller "Want to repeat that?" Weiss said as the two were almost chest to chest "Your my problem" he growled as the bell rang signifying the end of lunch. (Y/n) growled at Weiss before walking away "Can you believe him? Talking down to me like that, like he's better than me?" Weiss said clearly furious. Blake sighed knowing that this was not going to end knowing this wasn't going to end politely "He has the nerve to call me a problem" Weiss said as she sat down in her chair. Just as luck would have it (Y/n) was in the same class, just across from her two rows away. He sat down not paying the heiress any mind as he took out a notebook and was taking notes as the lecture started. This surprised her since from his attitude it gave the impression that he doesn't care about school. The class went by without many interruptions and as the bell rang everyone began filing our to head to their next destination, combat class. The students took their seats as Ms Goodwitch began class "Good morning everyone, today we have devised a unique test for you all" and a map of the forever fall forest cane on the screen "You and a partner will be sent into the forest, but the trick is only one of you can touch the ground at a time" "Can we choose partners?" a random student asked "No, your partners have already been selected for you and be aware your partner will not be on your team and is likely someone you've never met before" Goodwitch said as most people grumbled at that. Good witch started naming off the pairs, one after the other the two met up and started talking about a strategy to complete this "Weiss Schnee" the heiress perked up to listen for her partner "and (Y/n) (L/n)" Weiss looked over at the male who just hit his head on the railing before getting up and going outside the class with Weiss following suit "So how do you want to do this?" Weiss asked as the male didn't really seem that interested "It's obvious, I'll carry you" he said and a light dust of pink found it's way onto Weiss' cheeks at the thought "No" she said quickly as the boy looked at her dumbfounded at her answer "I'll use my semblance to carry you" Weiss said confidently and (Y/n) rolled his eyes "This should be good then" he said laughing a bit to himself. The class gathered outside the Emerald Forest on the same cliffs that they were initiated on "First pair to go is.....Weiss and (Y/n)" and the two walked up to the edge. A glyph appeared under (Y/n)'s feet lifting him up slightly as he sat down "You may begin" and the two set off into the woods. It didn't take long for the brush to get thicker and thicker "Stay off game trails, we'll stand a better chance of not getting attacked that way" (Y/n) said laying down on the glyph and Weiss looked back over her shoulder at the faunas, she was about to say something about him lazing about but decided to keep it to herself. The two eventually found their way to a small divide "How do we get across this?" (Y/n) said looking over the edge "I'll just make more glyphs" Weiss said as several manifested themselves to form a walkway "There, easy-" as Weiss finished hers sentence a loud growl came from behind them "I thought you said we weren't going to be ambushed" Weiss said drawing her rapier "I said it was less likely not impossible" (Y/n) said sitting up "Yo heiress, put yourself on one of these things, I can take these guys" (Y/n) said and Weiss turned to face five beowolves and two Ursa "Please, this is child's play" Weiss said cockily. Weiss rapier turned red and she lunged at a Beowolf digging the blade into it's chest straight through the heart swiping to her left with the blade on fire cutting another one's head off, smirking she looked over her shoulder as (Y/n) didn't seem impressed. Without looking two large spikes of ice impaled an Ursa and another Beowolf, two more beowolves and one more Ursa left, smirking Weiss raised her weapon like before, rushing forwards like last time Weiss suddenly lost her footing and tripped skidding on the ground and stopping right in front of the Ursa. Looking up she felt for her weapon but it wasn't there. the Ursa towered over her and growled opening it's mouth, Weiss was frozen, this was the first time in a long time that she's ever felt fear. The Ursa suddenly howled in pain, Weiss looked up and saw (Y/n) on it's back but he looked different, up to his arms were covered in dark fur and up to his knees were the same, and she could make out more on his back that connected to the fur on his arms with a short tail. What immediately struck her was his eyes, they were bright red and showed nothing but murderous intent along with his mouth now being full of sharp teeth and his animal ears being a bit bigger than they were. On all of his fingers were long sharp nails as he dug them into the Ursa's back and tearing them out repeatedly, before the Ursa hit the ground he jumped onto a beowolf, he grabbed the side of it's jaw ans yanked to the side roughly snapping its neck and he used his other hand to cut the last one's neck. All three grimm hit the ground at the same time, Weiss looked in shock at (Y/n) who easily dispatched the grimm "You still awake?" he said still sitting on top of one of the bodies "Yeah" Weiss tried to get up but couldn't "Ow" she said holding her ankle "You twisted that pretty good" and (Y/n) picked her up bridal style "What do you think your doing?!" she shouted in surprise and started flailing "We still got a mission to finish and besides you can't walk now" (Y/n) said smirking with his sharp teeth showing "How do we get across that though?" Weiss said noting that they still weren't over the divide yet "Easy, and here, before we go" (Y/n) handed Weiss her weapon and moved her onto his back "Hold on real tight" and he broke into a sprint. Weiss gripped his shirt and wrapped her legs over his waist, she almost screamed when he jumped but within a second or two it was over "You can let go now" (Y/n) said as Weiss loosened her grip and he returned to carrying her bridal style. She was however thankful that he was focusing on the walk instead of her otherwise he would see the blush on Weiss' face, leaning into his shirt she felt his toned body and heartbeat "We're almost there" he said as the woods started getting thinner and thinner. Weiss let out a tiny sigh of relief knowing that this was over, the pair exited the forest and found others had beat them out "Ms Schnee and Mr (L/n), glad to see you two finished" Prof. Goodwitch said as (Y/n) put Weiss down "Your ankle good?" (Y/n) asked as Weiss put her weight on her feet only to flinch on her bad foot "I'm fine" she said seeing her teammates walking towards them. Taking her weapon and using it as a sort of crutch Weiss took a second to balance herself "So did you guys pass?" Ruby asked her partner "I think so" Weiss said as her aura healed the sprain in her ankle. Putting her weapon on her hip she noticed that (Y/n) had walked away and was talking to Goodwitch. The two glanced over at Weiss and the professor waved Weiss over to which she complied "Yes?" Weiss asked noticing (Y/n) was annoyed about something "Unfortunately Ms Schnee you two have failed" Goodwitch said making the heiress go wide eyed at her "Why?" "After your brief encounter with the Grimm when (Y/n) here picked you up he broke the rules when the both of you were on the ground, this means an automatic failure" "But-" Weiss started but was stopped by the professor "But seeing as it was also Mr (L/n)'s quick thinking and use of his semblance that allowed you two to continue and finish this exercise, I'm willing to overlook this potential failure" Goodwitch said making the two of them heave a sigh of relief "Why not just start with that?" (Y/n) said and Goodwitch shrugged "I needed to get your full attention somehow" and the professor walked away to meet the other pairs finishing. Weiss turned and watched (Y/n) walk away but when she tried to talk to him Yang wrapped her arm around Weiss' shoulders and pulled her close "Come Weiss, team meeting"
