***Amogha's P.O.V***
Half an hour later, I walked out of the bathroom, a wet towel wrapped tightly around my body. I walked to my wardrobe and dressed in silence.
Gazing at the Krishna idol in front of me on my work desk, I offered my daily prayers to God before starting the day.
Pushing every urge to check my phone for missed calls or messages from someone on Whatsapp, I opened my laptop to resume my work - career is everything!
As Lady Gaga rightly said - my career will never wake up one day and say that it doesn't love me any more! Or rather, I will reap the benefits of my hard work in my career, and it won't cheat on me ever!
It was around 7:30am when I put my laptop in my office bag, dressed in a white formal pants and light pink shirt.
Looking at my reflection via the mirror at the dresser, I combed my long hair and put it in a pony-tail. As usual, I put on a moisturizer, eyeliner to hide the fact that I cried myself to sleep last night and finished my look with a light lipstick.
The meeting today would decide my fate and yes I go by the saying "First impression is the best impression". I want to give a damn good first impression today. My efforts of the past 3 months were at stake. If all went right, I would receive a promotion and transferred to Germany, along with a huge raise.
I agree that money might mean everything to some people, but for me, the transfer to Germany held more importance than the huge pay-rise!
I could maybe meet him if I went to Germany.... finally talk to him face-to-face!!
"No Amogha, no thoughts about him at least now!" I told herself.
Wiping away the traitor tears that managed to fall from my eyes, I took one last look at my reflection in the mirror and went downstairs to the dining hall along with my office bag once I was satisfied with my look.
***
My parents were already up and Amma had already prepared the breakfast. As soon as I walked down, appa came and hugged me as he said "I'll prepare your tea in a few minutes while you finish your breakfast"
He sure does know how to spoil me!!
Happily, I hugged him back and went and sat on my usual seat at the dining table. Call me lucky but being the only child, gave me the perks of being pampered a lot by my parents - well, appa more than amma to be honest!
Lost in thought about the incidents of the past month, and my work, I started eating the puliyogare that amma placed in front of me. One look at amma's face was enough to let me know what's going on in her mind!
Well, amma can think of it or anything as long as she doesn't voice-out her thought aloud and bring me down, specially the day of the most important meeting of my life!
"She's turned 26 this year and still single. At least let her have some responsibility! You give her unnecessary freedom!! Don't you feel tensed that your daughter may remain unmarried for her life if she continues like this?" Amma had complained to appa last night as I came home late again, for the 6th time this month.
Appa hadn't said anything but disappeared behind the day's newspaper although he had thoroughly read it already in the morning.
Staying calm, I had smiled at amma and said "Amma, I have an important meeting at work tomorrow and that's why I have been coming late this month. I had already told this to you. You know how hard I have worked for this job and you know my work is my passion"
