Mao wondered aimlessly throughout building 13. It's his break time and-having nothing to do- he went for a walk.

Why a building that isn't his own you may ask? Well, my wattpad babies, it's because I am the puppet master and my sweet little Mao-kun is my adorable little doll that I take advantage of.

So back to Nanba's sly little bitch;

He turned down a hallway, hoping to find a guard that would actually talk to him. Most guards he encountered here were either:

1) Focused on work too much
2) Ignored him because they didn't like him
3) Awkwardly shuffled away because they don't know the cat-like guard
Or
4) Had better things to do than hang out with a ridiculous dressed guard.

Yeah...I guess being a bit of a sly cat can push people away.

Not that it really mattered to him.

After all, he's always been pushed away. Even by his old best friend Samon when a girl came into the picture. But big sister Noriko was in love with Enki and Samon looked to her as a big sister figure. Still though.

"A girl changes everything." He mumbles to himself as memories that he buried so deep began to resurface.

--Past--

"Samon!" Mao ran through the woods.

He made sure to stay on the trail to his friends house, so he doesn't get lost like last time.

"Samon! You'll never guess how much money I have!" He shouted excitedly as he neared the temple. "My dad gave me some before he left me and mom! I know it's sad but hear me out!" He jumped over a twig that lay in his path. "I want to spend it on you! Let's go to the movies or something! Get candy! Get toys! Let me spoil you nya!" Each word full of joy.

Once getting a clear view of the temple, he skidded to a stop.

"Big sister Noriko! Enki said he wants to teach you how to meditate!" Samon smiled happily at the purple eyed girl.

The girl blushed red and stuttered, "R-really?! Wow...that's amazing! Just me and Enki!"

"Samon..?" Mao called uneasy.

The boy with the red tail turned around at the voice. "Oh hi Mao."

Mao walks forward and hid behind his friend, glancing over shoulder at the girl.

"Who's that?" He whispers in his ear.

Samon giggled, "Don't that tickles! This is big sister Noriko!"
