When Seven and Janeway were running away Nazi headquarters it explodes, and Janeway gets a piece of building debris in the side; through and through. She tried to pull herself up into a sitting position, but pain halted her movements. Seven crawled towards the captain and told her "Captain you are injured. Let me examine you!" She managed to shift her body to be on her side and tell her "We need to get of the street...and out of the holodecks..." Seven tried to convince the captain to take it easy, but knew more hirogen would be here soon. They both got up and ran as fast as they could out and into the closet jefferies tube entrance. Once Seven locked the tube she turned and helped ease Captain Janeway down onto an entrance to another junction. "Captain let me examine your injury." She stated, but quickly added a "please" to it which let Janeway know that she wasn't going to back down from this. "Fine...Help me get my jacket off...Please?" She asked Seven, while already having a hard time getting her jacket off of her shoulder. When the jacket was off Seven could clearly see the piece of debris going in through her back and out her side or the other way around, seven didn't really know, but she knew it needed to come out. When seven noticed that the captain looked toward the hatch, she pulled the piece straight out of her side. A scream erupted from her mouth at the interminable pain that roared through her whole midsection. "WHAT THE HELL SEVEN!!!!! OUCH!!!!" She cried through the pain, while trying to quiet down. All seven told her was "you were distracted and it needed to come out, so I took advantage of your distraction. Now I need you to pull up your top so I can try and bandage you up to stop the bleeding before you lose consciousness." The captain's mouth flew open at how frank seven was, but quickly began to think she was right. With shaking hands she pulled her shirt up to her breast, and Seven managed to use her tank top as a bandage. She stuck the two straps into both sides of the wound before wrapping it around her waist, and tying it as tightly as possible. "The bandage is adequate, but will need to be redone when we get you to the doctor." Seven said while cleaning up the mess she made, only to look up and see the captain's eyes were closed, and her skin had lost all color. Quickly she leaned toward her and smacked her across the face to try and wake her up. As soon as her hand made contact with the captain's face, her eyes fluttered open. "Seven...how long was I out...for?.." Janeway weakly spoke. "Only for a few minutes, but we should get moving to astrometrics." Seven told her, while adjusting her clothes. "I agree... Let's get...moving...ohh!!!!" Kathryn tried to say in her best "captain tone" but the pain was too much and she fell back onto the seat. Seven helped her up and out into the corridors. They took off towards astrometrics to find only one holographic soldier, so Janeway ran to catch him before he picked up the rifle. She elbowed him in the shoulder and rendered him unconscious. The two of them talked about getting allys, and headed back to holodeck two. Back in the Katrine's place on the holodeck most of senior staff's characters were their. Suddenly they all heard something pop open and armed themselves. Katrine (Captain Janeway) hauled herself out of the tube and into the restaurant to see guns pointed right at her. "Hold your fire" She said in her French accent. "We thought you were killed in the explosion." Tuvok's character said in a vulcan tone. "We escaped through these tunnels. It took us a bit longer to get back, because I had to treat Katrines inj..." Seven started, but Janeway cut her off saying "We don't have time to explain our reasoning...I need Captain Miller to come over here and help me." Captain Miller immediately perked up when he heard that Katrine might be hurt, but he didn't know why he cared so much for a woman he has just met. "Of course, but will you let my field medic take a look at you please? I just want to make sure you're okay." She was about to protest when she saw Seven moving towards her, and quickly replied "fine..but it needs to be quick...because we need to get moving." He helped her off the bar and led her to the nearest table that had a map on it. She gently lowered herself down into the chair, and was careful to stay off of her left side. Lieutenant Davis (Tom Paris) brought a first aid kit over to the table and asked "Alright where is the injury?" She opened her jacket and raised her shirt again to show the black tank top that is soaked through with blood. Tom's character quickly jumped into action by removing the tank top, so he could get more gauze on the wound. She flinched at the sudden pain, but didn't try to move away. Captain Miller took her hand and tried to be reassuring and supportive, but she just started talking about a plan. Once Tom's character finished bandaging Kathryn up, Captain Miller helped pull her shirt back into place. She couldn't help but blush, because here was her husband taking care of her even when he didn't recognize or remember that they were married. "Thank you...Now I need you too clear these corridors...so that I can get their and plant explosives...Can you do that?" She asked after stifling a moan when shifting to face the table. He asked the medic about one of his companies before telling her "I'll have my C company clear it now, but I'm going with you! You aren't going alone." Her mouth dropped and she tried to tell him that she works better alone, but he wouldn't give in. She moved to stand by the door to think about what he was asking, when an explosion outside the window caused her to fly back and land on her back. Captain Miller saw her go down near the window after the building shook, but couldn't get to her. Seven and him ran towards her when the building settled, and found her trying to pull herself up. "HOLD ON!!" Captain Miller yelled out, while reaching under her arms to pull her off of the ground. Once they were far enough away from any windows he asked "Are you alright? Do you need my medic to check you over again?" Kathryn was fine, and knew they needed to get to work. "I'm fine... I promise! Just a bit dazed...but we need to get moving." She told everyone, but particularly Chakotay and Seven. He took the backpack from her, but let her carry the rifle. Together they made their way into the jefferies tube and made their way towards the other holodeck. They reached an intersection, and she was in more pain than she cared to let on. As she swung her legs out of the tube and tried to stand up, pain roared from her side and she flew back onto the tube. Captain Miller was quick to climb out and kneel in front of her asking "Madam, are you sure you're okay?" She had her right arm wrapped around her midsection to help ease the pain, and it was working. Once the pain was back to something that was bearable she said "Yeah, i'm okay...Just a bit sore from crawling through the tubes...Now we are about to go into some caves that run under the town, and there are eccentric people that live there...They are harmless but just follow my lead." He nodded and helped her stand up. They found themselves face to face, and Chakotay's character couldn't shake this weird feeling. Before she knew it his lips were on hers and he was kissing her. It didn't last long, but he knew she liked it. When he pulled back he saw one tear roll down her cheek and knew that there was love in her eyes. They made their way through the last tubes and arrived in the next holodeck, and they saw Neelix klingon version. She climbed up on a rock to talk to him, when he threw the whiskey bottle towards Chakotay. He caught it just as she turned around, but couldn't step down. He extended his hand towards her, and she graciously accepted it. Her pain intensified a bit when she stepped down, but it dissipated as soon as she was settled back on the ground. "Stay here...but don't drink it...it's twelve times stronger than whiskey...I'll be back soon..." She told him and took the backpack around the corner of the terrain. She scoured along the rocks to try and find the control panel, but couldn't find it. Finally she stumbled upon it, and imput a few commands to bring the doctor online and to the holodeck. When he materialized she had just eased herself down onto a nearby rock with a groan, and he was quickly by her side asking "Captain? Are you alright?" She massaged her side and responded "I'm fine...I need your help...Now the neural interfaces are...controlled through the surgical console in sickbay, correct?.." He nodded and explained where the hirogen should be at. "Alright follow me...Chakotay and I are going to leave you...with the klingons...While we go and detonate a few charges...to blow out the console..." She told him while pushing up off of the rock. "Take it easy captain! Please?" He jumped in, so that he could help her stand. They walked out to the main area, and she called Captain Miller to follow her. Once again they found themselves in the jeffries tubes. She was standing in front of a control panel trying to get a check on what's going on in sick bay, and found that there was a level 9 force field around the surgical console. "Damn...Set the charge for five minutes...: She told Captain Miller, who was putting together the bomb. When the charges were set they made there way up into sick bay. There was one Hirogen working in sick bay, when they crawled through the last hatch that led to sick bay. Both of them held up their guns and motioned for the hirogen to exit sick bay. Captain Miller lead the hirogen out of sick bay, while Kathryn went straight to work on the force field from the monitor in the sick bay office. Outside of sick bay Captain Miller had kept the hirogen at bay, until two more hirogen turned the corner. He fired at one, but the hirogen took it out of his hands. One of the other hirogen took Captain Miller back to holodeck 2, while the first hirogen burst through the sick bay doors. When the hirogen saw Kathryn working on the monitor, he raised the gun and fired a shot at her. It hit the same side that she already injured. She hit the wall, but continued to run out of sickbay. What she didn't know was that another hirogen was waiting to take her to the bridge, so that the alpha can talk to her. On the bridge Harry stood rooted behind the optical station, when suddenly the turbolift doors swished open. He saw his captain stiffly walk out onto the bridge, while surrounded by hirogen. She glanced her eyes over to see Harry looking dirty but alive. The hirogen pulled her towards her ready room. Harry jumped at her cry of pain, and knew that she was hurt. When she disappeared into the ready room, he managed to get access to her biosigns and kept track of her. In the ready room the Alpha was commending her on the way her escape went. He was very pleased that she had put up a dauntless fight, but now it was over. The alpha began talking about how she didn't know the reason that he was doing what he was doing. She leaned forward on the desk and said "I know the point of your sick little game..." The alpha shot up out of the chair and yelled out "THIS IS NOT A GAME!!" She jumped back, but the pain in her side intensified and she fell back into the closet chair. He walked around to her and said "I'm trying to find a new way of hunting for my people. If we use the holograms, we could settle down and rebuild our civilization." She shifted in the chair to respond "And confine your killing to holograms..." When she saw him nod, she hauled herself out of the chair and asked "Then why have you...thrown my crew into...one brutal simulation...after another?" He gave her the typical answer, and they came to an agreement. Back on the bridge Harry lit up with glee when his captain walked out onto the bridge with a smile hidden in her eyes. The alpha contacted his second in command, who was at Katrine's bar with the rest of her senior officers. "I've come to an agreement with Captain Janeway. Call a ceasefire!" Tuvok called through "Captain?" She responded "It's true Tuvok!.. Find Chakotay...and help him...convince his troops...to pull out of...the city..." She was suddenly exhausted and Harry could tell she was going to go down, and swiftly started walking towards her. When the Alpha closed the communication link, Captain Janeway started falling towards the ground. Harry jumped to catch her, and slowly eased her down onto the ground. "What's wrong with her?" The Alpha asked in a monotone voice. Harry pulled out his tricorder, which he always kept with him, and scanned his captain. "She has lost a lot of blood from a wound to her side." The tricorder suddenly showed some weird results, and he added "Apparently she has two severe injuries to the same area. Her body is going into shock! You have to let me bring her into the ready room with the emergency med kit, or we will lose her!" The alpha considered his request, and ultimately agreed. One of the hirogen hunters brought him the med kit, before he carried Janeway through her ready room doors. First he laid her down on the couch, so that she would be semi-comfortable when she woke up. Flinging the kit open he prepped a hypospray of something to stabilize her. The alpha just say behind her desk, working on a way to shut down the holoprogram. Harry watched the tricorder as her vitals slowly returned to normal, and let out a sigh when she started to wake up. "Captain?" He quietly spoke to her. She fluttered her eyes open to find herself not where she last remembered. When she heard her name, she turned her head to find Harry kneeling next to her. "Harry...What...happened?" She weakly asked. He repacked the med kit, and told her "You went into shock, and I convinced the alpha to let me bring you into the ready room and treat. I need to ask you if you knew you were pregnant?" Her mouth flew open, and responded "What?..No...I didn't know...Is the baby okay?.." He smiled and showed her the tricorder, and she saw that her baby's vitals were perfectly healthy. Harry continued to say "We have to shut down the programs, and we need you at peak efficiency as Seven would put it. Are you going to tell me about your injuries or do I have to investigate?" She pulled herself up to lean her back against the couch, before answering "Which injury...would you like...to hear about...first?" He immediately told her "The beginning is usually the best place to start, so how about there." She shifted to try and get more comfortable, but the pain stopped her movements instantly. He suddenly saw the blood that was now pooling onto the couch and that she couldn't get settled, so he helped put a pillow behind her back. Once she was all settled with the pillow, she told him "Well...The first injury...occurred when Seven and I were...leaving the Nazi headquarter...building before...it was hit...with a bomb...and a piece...of debris...lodged itself...into my side...long enough...to be seen...from both sides..." She watched as his face went completely astonished, but continued "The second injury...Happened when I was...trying to disable...the forcefield...that around the...surgical console...One of the hunters...came in and...fired the WW2 gun...and it hit me in the...same side..." He was so amazed at how she was still alive, and just stared at her but didn't say anything. She knew what they had to do, so they could shut the holodeck down and tried to stand. She didn't make it far when the pain became too much, and she flew back onto the couch. Her groan must have snapped him out of his stupor, because Harry suddenly was on his feet ready to help her stand. "Thank you Harry!..For everything...and please keep...the baby...to yourself...please..Chakotay doesn't...know yet..." She told him, as soon as she was on her feet. He tried to joke and say "Well I most likely won't be seeing him for a while, so I won't have the opportunity to tell him" She playfully slapped him on the arm, before moving towards the alpha to find a way to save her ship. The alpha was in front of her within seconds and asked "Do you have any ideas at how we can shut the holo programs down?" She leaned further on Harry, before answering "Yes, but we need to get down to Engineering." He agrees and moves toward the doors. She starts toward him, but Harry stops her and tells her "Easy Captain! I'm coming with you, so that I can keep an eye on you!" She smiles at his protectiveness, but says "No...I need you at...ops here on...the bridge..." He reluctantly follows her orders, but is not happy. She stiffly walks behind the alpha out the ready room back rooms. They were standing in Engineering, almost ready to overload the holo emitters, when the alpha's second in command walked through the doors with a WW2 rifle. The alpha tried to convince him that it was necessary to cooperate with Janeway and her crew to ensure the survival of their culture. The hirogen shot and killed the alpha, before turning towards Janeway and saying "Run! You are my prey.." She pushed her way up off of the wall with a groan, but didn't make any move towards the door. The hirogen didn't hesitate to aim his gun and fire at her leg. She yelled out as the bullet pushed its way through her pants and into her leg. "I'm not going to tell you again. RUN!" He yelled and took a step to the side, so that the doorway was completely empty. She knew better than to argue anymore, and slowly limped towards the door. When she got to the door, she took off running as fast as she could. He reloaded his rifle, before walking out of engineering to catch his prey. She managed to get a jefferies tube access hatch open, and worked her way into the narrow space. She had only made it through six junctions, when she heard the hatch open. She tried to move faster, but the pain in her leg made her slow down. Eventually she couldn't take being in the tubes anymore, so she began running through empty corridors. Finally when she turned a corner she noticed a good hiding spot, where the hologrid ends. She rushed into the little opening, and gently eased herself down onto the ground. While she was waiting for the hirogen to come find her, she took the time to take a quick peek at her leg. Her hand had barely touched her leg, and already the pain shot up through her body. The sound of footsteps snapped her back to reality. As soon as he was close enough the rifle fell out of his hands and onto the floor in front of her. She quickly grabbed a fallen pipe and struck the hirogen; which caused him to stumble away from her. She rushed out of her hiding spot, and grabbed the gun that had recently been dropped. The hirogen took off running back down the corridor, so she limped as fast as she could to keep up with him. They found themselves in front of the holodeck breach. She tried to convince him to stop all of this, but he rushed towards her. Without hesitating she fired the rifle, and watched as his body flew down to the holodeck. She limped to the edge of the breach and saw the holograms disappear. Back on the ground level Chakotay caught movement coming from his peripheral view, so turned to see what it was. He looked up to see his Kathryn leaning against the wall near the edge. She yelled out "Head for the bridge!!" as loud as she could without passing out. He could see that she was more hurt than she showed, but yelled back "We'll meet you there!" Suddenly more hirogen hunters made their way onto the holodeck, so she motioned for them to run before she herself turned to limp her way towards the nearest turbolift. When she got into the lift she could tell her strength was all but gone, so she eased herself down to sit on the ground. Before she knew what was happening her hand fell away from her side, her leg was bent to the side, and consciousness left her. Chakotay, Tom, B'elanna, and Tuvok had made their way out of the holodeck and made it to the lift that was supposedly the one their Captain used to get to the bridge. As soon as the lift doors opened, they saw her lying against the wall of the lift. Chakotay rushed straight to her side, and caressed her cheeks. Her skin was cold to the touch, but he started trying to rouse her awake. Tom quickly scanned her and saw the extent of her injuries. "B'elanna go find the doctor NOW!" He yelled out, while trying to find something to press against her wounds. Chakotay kept trying to get her to wake up, but Tom knew she had lost a lot of blood. As he pressed something to her side, they all heard a quiet moan float through the room. He watched as the captain's eyes fluttered open, and instantly whispered "Commander." Chakotay quickly looked up and saw her beautiful blue eyes staring back at him, and said "Oh Kathryn! You're awake! How are you feeling?" She let her head fall back, before saying "I've been...better..." Tom motioned for him to keep her talking, and to try and get her to mention more about her injuries. "Honey, how badly are you hurt? And tell me the honest truth!" He asked her, and knew she would hide stuff from him if he wasn't specific. Reluctantly she tried to pull herself, but didn't have enough strength. Eventually she gave up and asked him "Which injury...would you like to...hear about...first honey?.." His face went distorted at the fact that she had more than one to tell him about, but responded with "Hmmm...How about the Beginning my dear." She smiled and told him "Well...First was on the...holodeck...when Nazi...headquarters...exploded...I got a piece of debris...stuck in my side...that you could see...from my front...and back..." She paused to take some deep breath, and he gently squeezed her hand to give her some strength. After a minute she continued "Then the hirogen...in sick bay...shot me in...that same...side...and finally...when I was in...engineering...the hirogen...that was...second in command...shot me...in the leg...when I wouldn't...run like...his prey..." Telling them the story completely exhausted her and Chakotay noticed, so he pulled her against him. She fought to tell him one more thing, and said "Chakotay...Actually...I...should...be...calling...you...papa...again..." It took him a second to realize what she had said, but eventually asked back "Wait! Kathryn, are you pregnant again?" She nodded her head as much as she could, and he squeezed her tighter. B'elanna arrived shortly after with the doctor and a de-klingoned Neelix, and was not a moment too soon. Chakotay told him "Doctor you need to check on the baby!" The doc was confused until he scanned the captain, and saw what he was talking about. "The baby is unaffected, and is perfectly healthy. By the way captain and commander, Congratulations on the newest crew member!" She let out a long breath, and he continued "I can't say the same for you Captain! We need to get you somewhere safe and out of the way, so I can properly treat you." Chakotay suggested they use the lift to go to the bridge and get her laying down in her ready room, because they can use the replicator to get anything they may need. Everyone filled into the lift, after Chakotay helped Kathryn to stand up. She leaned almost all her weight onto her husband, so that she wasn't on her right leg. She then asked no louder than a whisper "Is Bella okay?..Where's Bella?" Chakotay leaned down to whisper in her ear "Bella is just fine...She is with Ensign Harper, her baby, Ensign Wildman, and Naomi." Instantaneously she relaxed further into his embrace. He told her loud enough for everyone to hear "Kathryn, when you are released from sick bay we are going on a family relaxation trip to the holodeck, so you can get some much needed rest." Everyone in the lift agreed with the fact that she needed rest. A week later the Janeway family found themselves in a little wooden cabin that was right on the beach. "Oh Chakotay!! It's beautiful..." She paused to move Bella in her arms, so the baby could see the wonderful vacation spot they were at. Chakotay put the bags inside, while Kathryn went to sit on the beach with Bella and they both soon fell asleep. Chakotay brought a blanket to lay down on the ground, and moved his daughter than his wife onto it. He placed Kathryn's head on his lap, and Bella in between his legs with her head laying on his chest. From this moment on, Chakotay was convinced that Kathryn Janeway had been the one who would bring him peace on earth.
