Save Me [Tribute to Maze Runner]

{Part One}

You woke with a start drenched in your own sweat. Your hair clung to your forehead and your plain v-neck shirt stuck to your skin. You let your eyes adjust and realised that you couldn't see or recognise anything at all. You started to panic as the cage you found yourself in started to move and rattle loudly. You felt another wave of nausea hit as you doubled over and threw up.

"HEY! ANYONE! PLEASE HELP ME!" You screamed only to hear your screamed echo the empty tunnel. You racked your brain to try and find something, anything at all, but there was nothing. Your brain was a hollow, dark abyss.

The cage rattled again, making you lose your balance and fall to the side. Looking up, you found the cage increase in speed and the ceiling drew nearer. At this rate, the cage will crash into the rooftop and god knows what will happen next. You found yourself screaming again when suddenly the metal cage came to a halt. An alarm sounded as the ceiling gave way and bright sunlight poured into the darkness. You covered your eyes with your arms as the light blinded you.

You heard gasps all around you. "It's a girl!"

"What?!"

"I know its been two years but I'm sure you know what a girl is!"

"Guys, shush, you're scaring her!"

"You shut up, Armin. No one cares!"

"Armin's right, shut up!" You slowly moved your hand and squinted to make out a few shapes and figures above you.

A blond boy dressed in plain rags and a leather belt across his body climbed down and helped you sit up. "Are you okay? What can you remember? Your name, perhaps?"

You shook your head. Everything was just gone. You couldn't remember anything, everything was just blank. "No."

"Well still, let's get you out of the box shall we?" He smiled and hoisted you up to your feet. You felt small as everyone stared down at your but the boy swatted most of the boys away as he led you to an opening. "Welcome to the Glade, I'm Armin. Of course, this happens to everyone. They come up in the box, having no memory-"

"Levi." you blurted out. "That's Levi, right?"

The boy gave you a look and followed your gaze. Funnily enough, there he was, a boy with short black bangs and piercing silver eyes, returning from the maze. "Yes, that's him."

"Armin," Levi nodded in greeting. "New Greenie, huh?" He brushed past you, almost knocking you over as he jogged into the small forest. You turned and looked at the blond, now by the name of Armin.

"Who is he?"

"Well, I was hoping you could tell me, seeing that you already knew his name." he crossed his arms and puffed a breath. How were you supposed to explain this to Armin? Not even you knew how you suddenly blurted out his name when you couldn't even remember your own. Everything became a mess when you woke up in that cage- the box -and now all the boys seemed suspicious of you, giving you odd looks and side glances. Then it hit you.

You were the only female in Glade.

"I-I honestly do not know. I saw him and that was the only thing in my mind so I said it. I don't even remember my own name. I can't remember anything, why can't I remember anything? Who put us here? I want to leave!" You panicked as you looked at the four walls that stood between you and freedom. There were four narrow exits on each of the walls but you were held back by another boy as you were about to run. Where the hell did he come from?

"Whoa, girl, you don't want to go out there," The brunet said as he pulled you back. "Out there is dangerous, can't have you running around, especially not now."
