Day 1: Facing Temptation
"Then David sent messengers and took her, and she came to him, and he lay with her...and the woman conceived." 2 Samuel 11:4a and 5a. King David did not climb back into bed that evening. Instead, he systematically inquired, summoned and seduced Bathsheba.
We all have faced temptation. You may have considered an immoral decision. You may have found yourself in a situation where you don't see a way out.
Galatians 5:16 can help. "So I say, let the Holy Spirit guide your lives. Then you won't be doing what your sinful nature craves.
The Apostle Paul goes on to explain our sinful nature is in direct opposition to the Holy Spirit. Wanting to do good is nice, but not enough. We need the Holy Spirit to help us fight our sinful nature. We must allow the Holy Spirit to guide our lives.
Galatians 5:25 says: "If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit."
