Chapter 2: World Tournament Time!

(8 Months Later)

Yamcha, Goku, and Krillin all headed to the 21st World Tournament alongside Master Roshi, and they found Bulma, Puar, and Oolong waiting for them. Yamcha ran up to Bulma and Puar. Puar gave him a hug and Bulma kissed him on the cheek. Yamcha laughed as he gave Bulma and Puar a tight hug. "I missed you two! It's great to see you again!"

It was time for the preliminaries. It was also Yamcha's turn. He had changed back into his bandit clothes, and he also wore a red bandanna. Yamcha stepped onto the fighting stage and was met with a very tall man wearing a basic martial arts uniform. The man grinned down at him. "I'll give you one free shot, pipsqueak! Go ahead!" Yamcha looked up and eyed the man up and down. Then, as fast as light, he jumped onto the man's arm, bounced off, and punched the man so hard that he went flying out of the ring. Yamcha landed on the stage and smirked, looking at the man and raising his fist. "See that?" 

Goku's expression brightened when he saw how strong Yamcha had gotten. "Wow, Yamcha's not holding anything back!" Krillin said. Goku faced his best friend. "Krillin! Let's make sure that we stay sharp, too!" Krillin nodded and smiled. "Alright!"

For his next match, Yamcha was fighting a wolf. A bipedal wolf, to be exact. Eager to get to the quarterfinals, Yamcha bounded onto the stage and faced his opponent, smiling confidently. "Well, this is gonna be easy." The wolf snarled, then grinned. "In that case, let's start the fight!" Yamcha raised an eyebrow. "This fight'll be over in the blink of an eye." The wolf laughed. "Ha! Prove it! I'll blink, right here, right now!" "Don't say I didn't warn you." Yamcha said. The wolf smirked and blinked- and Yamcha shot forward and kicked him in the chest, sending the wolf hurtling out of the ring. Yamcha lowered his knee and smiled proudly. "See? Blink of an eye." 

Master Roshi, disguised as a fighter named Jackie Chun, studied Yamcha carefully. Interesting... Yamcha has certainly improved as a fighter since I first met him. However, growing this strong, even over a period of 8 months, is definitely not possible... Unless he has done some secret training. I need to be careful.
