"So, how was the one-year anniversary party?" I asked, sitting down on my couch.
"So much fun. I'm still kind of upset that you couldn’t come, though." Jonah set my cup of coffee down on the table in front of me.
"Sorry. Mom needed me, I really wanted to come, though."
"The fans wanted you there too."
"Anyways," Daniel said, sitting down on the arm chair, "Happy birthday Kourtney!"
"Happy birthday!" All of the boys got up and started jumping around.
They all sang happy birthday to me as they settled down. As soon as they finished Nadia walked through the door, carrying a cake and birthday gifts.
"Here, let me get that before you drop it." I grabbed the cake out of Nadia's hands and set it down on the kitchen counter. "You didn’t have to get me anything."
"Too bad, we all got you something," Corbyn said. He stood
"We're here!" August and Eben walked through the front door.
"August! Eben!" I got off of the couch and gave them hugs. "What are you guys doing here?"
"We wanted to surprise you," Eben said.
"Yeah, we missed having you around."
We all ate cake and watched movies for a while until Daniel insisted that I open everybody's presents.
"Mine is going to be the best!" Zach yelled. He handed me a small bag that had a little card on it.
I opened the bag and a square box was inside. I opened the box and saw a Pandora bracelet. It was silver with a few pink charms on it. "Aww, Zach, thank you. I love it." I gave Zach a hug and put the bracelet on before Jack shoved his gift in my face.
I opened Jacks gift and saw a giant stuffed poodle. "Jack, why did you get me a clone of you?"
"So I can always be with you, duh."
I laughed and put the poodle back into the bag when Jack handed me a skate board.
"Here's your real present."
"Oh my gosh, thank you! I needed to get a new one."
Nadia got me a necklace, mom got me some clothes, Mason got me gift cards to fast food places, August and Corbyn both got me shoes, and Jonah got me some blue ray bans. Daniel and West both said that they would give me mine later.
"Thank you, guys, so much. You didn’t have to get me anything."
"It's your big one-eight, you deserve to be spoiled." Jacked ruffled my hair and I smacked his arm away.
"Kourtney, can I talk to you in private?" Daniel asked..
"Yeah, sure."
I got up and followed Daniel to my room. He pulled out a bag and handed it to me. Inside was a charm bracelet. Each charm symbolized something we did together that we will never forget. One of them was a Ferris Wheel. The first time we hang out we went to the fair. I had to beg Daniel to ride the Ferris Wheel with me. Now, every time we go to the fair, we always ride the Ferris Wheel.
"Daniel." I gave him a hug before looking back at the bracelet.
"Wow, I didn’t mean to make you cry," Daniel said.
"What?" I asked.
Daniel took his hand and wiped a tear away from my eye. "I really didn’t."
"Didn’t even realize. Thank you, Daniel. I love it."
"More than Zach's?"
"More than Zach's. Did he copy your idea or something?"
"No, just a coincidence."
We went back down stairs and I propped my feet up on West's lap.
-
We were watching movies when there was a knock at the door.
"I'll get it," Nadia said.
Nadia went to open the door and I looked around. "Nobody else is supposed to be coming."
Nadia walked back in with Brody following her. I sprung off of the couch, only to be stopped my Jonah's arms around my waist.
"What is he doing here? He broke your heart and I didn’t get to finish breaking his face!"
Brody was Nadia's ex-boyfriend. He just ended it with her for no reason about three months ago, and Nadia didn’t come out of her room for a week.
"Chill, Kourt. I invited him."
"Why?"
"We talked a few things out, and we are going to try dating again. So, I'm not so single anymore."
Jonah let me go and I slowly walked over to Brody. I grabbed his shirt collar and pulled his head down so we were eye to eye.
"If you ever think about hurting her again, nobody will find your body. Because it will be chopped up into tiny, little, pieces and thrown into the ocean, where you will be fed to the sharks and sold as bait. Clear?"
Brody swallowed nervously before saying, "Clear."
I let go of his shirt collar as he handed me two things. One was a small box with a note attached to the top, the other one was a Starbucks gift card.
"The card is from me, the box was on your porch," Brody mumbled.
"Thanks."
I took the things from him and sat back down at my spot on the couch. I opened the note that was on the box and read it.

Happy birthday, Kourtney! Hope you have an amazing day. Thank you for giving me a chance and talking to me on the account. It makes my day so much better talking to you. I hope you enjoy the necklace. Xoxo- the author

I opened the box and saw a necklace. The charm on it was a paper airplane, and in tiny letters was 'your author' written on the tops of the wings. I closed the box and stood up.
"I'll be right back."
I went upstairs and got on my phone.

kourtneyofficial_: Thanks for the necklace, I love it
theauthor: No problem. Just a reminder that I'm always going to be there for you and I'll always be with you
kourtneyofficial_: Thanks, I appreciate it. I have to get back downstairs, they stopped the movie for me
theauthor: alright, bye.
