The True Owner of the Great Sword

The fight between the two brothers soon began and I stood with my sister as we watched. I could tell they were shocked at the fact Sesshomaru was weilding the Tetsusaiga, then they noticed the dragon arm. My eyes widened, seeing Inuyasha cut it off. Sesshomaru blinded Inuyasha, then I noticed the Tetsusaiga turn red, making my eyes widen, seeing an attack aimed towards Sesshomaru.

"SESSHOMARU!!!!" I shouted, then ran towards him, then stood in front of him and created my orange shield. "Sakura!?" I heard him say in shock. I gasped, seeing the shield start to crack under the attack, then I felt an arm around my waist and I pulled into Sesshomaru's chest as he turned his back to the attack.

I screamed in pain because I could still feel the attack, then everything went black.

Sesshomaru's POV

I opened my eyes, then realized I couldn't move and felt something on my chest. I glanced down and saw Sakura unconscious. I looked at her injuries and growled, remembering what happened and how she tried to protect me. I heard small footsteps and wrapped my arm around her tighter as I sat up slightly, then growled at whoever was near, before I heard a gasp. A human child came into view, before she had a determined look, and left a bamboo container beside me, then left.

Once night came, I heard Sakura begin to wake up and I looked at her. "S... Ses... sho... maru?" She whisperer, then lifted her head to look at me.

Sakura's POV

"Are you alright?" He asked me. "I think so. What happened?" I asked.

"Inuyasha broke through your shield and I tried to protect you from the attack, but you were still hit. Drink this." He opened a bamboo container and helped me drink the water. "Where did you get this?" I asked him once I finished.

"She brought it." I looked at him confused, but noticed he was looking in a different direction and I followed it, before I saw a human child, holding some food. "Hello." I greeted, smiling at her.

She walked closer to us as I got off of Sesshomaru, then placed the food down. "Thank you. What's your name?" I asked her, but got no answer.

"You don't have to tell me now." I told her. "Mind your own business. I don't eat human food." Sesshomaru said, then she soon left.

"She just wants to help us, Sesshomaru." I told him. "You are the one that needs the food and water. I do not." He told me and I rolled my eyes.

"You can have someone help you every now and then. It won't ruin your image." I told him. "You didn't tell me you had a soft spot for children." Sesshomaru said.

"I thought I did." I told him, before I went to sleep. The next day, I woke up hearing Sesshomaru talk. "No thanks." I lifted my head. "I told you I don't need anything." He said and I looked at the girl, but my eyes widened, seeing the bruises.

"What's with those bruises on your face?" He asked, making her look at him. "If you don't want to talk, that's fine." He told her, then she suddenly smiles.

"What are you smiling about? I only asked a question." Sesshomaru said and she left soon after. "Why did she smile?" He asked me and I smiled softly.

"Maybe because you said something different to her than what you have. I don't know." I told him. "How are your injuries?" He asked and I glanced at him.

"I'm almost to full health again. I just needed time so my Shun Shun Rikka could heal me." I answered. He stood up and lifted me into his arm, before we went to where Jaken was. I could hear him talking and I raised an eyebrow at what he was saying.

"He was testing... he was teasing... he was testing... he was teasing... he was testing... he was teasing... he was testing. He was testing! Lord Sesshomaru, would you have risked my life to test your sword! You ungrateful dog!" Sesshomaru threw a rock at him, making his dragon look at us as we approached.

"Lord Sesshomaru! Before I continue in your service, were you testing your sword on me?" Jaken asked, jumping onto the dragon. "I expected a relieved welcome from you, Jaken, not an interrogation." Sesshomaru said.

"Thank goodness you're alright! I thought you might be dead!" Sesshomaru threw another rock at him, before placing me on the dragon's back. He suddenly glanced behind us.

"Sesshomaru?" I asked. He didn't answer, but only walked in the direction, making us follow him. I noticed a figure on the ground and gasped, seeing the little girl. I got off the dragon and ran beside her.

"Who would harm a child?" I whispered. "It was wolves." Sesshomaru told me.

"She's a goner!" I hit Jaken on the back of the head, then felt the duplicate of Tenseiga pulse, making me pull it out and I suddenly saw creatures poking her body. I swung down the sword, killing them, and watched the girl.

Her eyes opened and I smiled at her. "She's come back to life. Sakura, did you use the Tenseiga to save that girl?" Jaken asked, then I stood up, after placing her down.

"Partially. I also wanted to test the Tenseiga." I answered, then followed Sesshomaru. I could still hear Jaken as we walked away.

"That means I was cut down with no guarantee of survival!" He started crying, before he realized we were leaving him behind. "Don't leave without me, Lord Sesshomaru!" He shouted and I noticed the girl was following us.

"So the Tenseiga can bring people back to life? Interesting." I said to Sesshomaru, then turned to the girl.

"So will you tell me your name now?" I asked her and she looked at me, before smiling. "My name is Rin. Thank you for saving me, Lady Sakura!" She said and I smiled.

"No problem." I told her.
