Karma and Amy - Not so Faking it

Chapter 11 - In The Weeks to Come...

A day before camp:

Karma's P.O.V: 

I woke up on Sunday morning and started packing right away, I knew that Mum would want to pack all this lame clothes into my bag, so I decided to start before she got the chance to do anything.  She would have probably picked out my lame bag from 5th grade with the ponies on it, I shuttered at the thought of that.  Sent me right back to 5th grade when Tommy made fun of that particular bag. Stupid Tommy.  I continue to pack and try to keep my mind off Amy.  It was no good. My mind kept on drifting back to Amy, although it wasn't really my mind sending me there, it was my heart. I gagged at my own thought, know it sounded awfully gag worthy, but I couldn't help it, all this time never even knowing that it was Amy all this time! I sighed and zipped up my bag and sat down on my bed.  

The past couple of weeks she had been back at school, but I had been too nervous to go up to her, to even say hello.  I didn't feel normal.  Everything about her made me crazy.  I would have probably said something stupid, like: I love you, instead of hello.  That would have set off Haley too.  She was her guard dog, I wouldn't have labelled her as Amy's girlfriend.  She fends off people, and Amy doesn't even notice it.  Amy's too lost 'in love' to see anything anymore.  It was so annoying being in love with her sometimes...I guess this was how she felt. 

I go downstairs for breakfast, when I feel my pocket beeping,  I pull out my phone.  
"Hey Shane" I said. 
"Yo! Guess who just agreed to see me without Haley!" Shane cheered. 
"I don't know?" I said playing dumb.  
"AMY! So grab your ass right now, we are going to have breakfast at that nice little place down the corner from her house" Shane said.  
"Does she know I'm going to be there?" I asked 
"Yeah, she invited you...well she asked me to invite you, so get ready I'm grabbing you in 20" he said.  

I quickly raced upstairs and got ready, I had to look good, I was seeing Amy today.  I had to get her back.  I had too, she was trapped with Haley, but not for too much longer.  I walked down the stairs just as there was a knock on the door.  

"I'm going out, I'll be back" I yelled to my parents, they answered back in mumbles, somewhere in there I heard an 'okay'.  I opened the door to a smiling Shane, he hugged me, and I shut the door in the process. Then we climbed into his car.  

"Shane why does your car have a dent on the hood?" I asked as we drove to the breakfast place.  
"I don't know.  It's not my car though" he said.  
"Where did you get the car then?" I asked 
"Liam let me borrow it" he said.  
"oh...okay" I said, feeling a little bit awkward to the fact I was sitting in my ex-boyfriend's car.  
"do you know how it go there?" I asked breaking the silence.  
"You have to ask him, but it is an odd place to have a dent" Shane said as we pulled up and parked the car.  


We met Amy inside, she was no longer in the wheel chair, she was on crutches now. We both hugged Amy and then sat and ordered. Then there was nothing but silence.  What was I supposed to say? What was I supposed do? Where was I meant to look? Ah no I looked at her boobs, definitely not the place to look, did she notice, oh shit I think she noticed.  

"Karma, are you okay? You look sick" Amy said, looking at me with her beautiful eyes.  
"I'm fine" I smiled 
"oh..okay..you just don't look it" she said, smiling back.  Oh god was I the only one that thought this was awkward.  


Amy's P.O.V: 

It was awkward, I don't know why I agreed to letting Shane bring Karma.  Was she looking at my boobs.  I think she was. oh well, I'll try to ignore it. We got through some small talk about school and the up coming camp.  The thing that was haunting my nightmares.  I really didn't want to go. I hated my Mother a little bit for signing the papers already. There was no getting out of it.  

The food finally came, and I ate it all in one bite, the Hospital food sucked and I hadn't had something I wanted in weeks.  Lauren and my Mother were on a health fix at home so it was all natural and green.  I wanted bacon one morning but even that was green.  Nothing about green bacon was natural, or healthy.  

"so do you guys know what we are even doing on this camp?" I asked 
"it's about bonding, or something" Shane said, with a mouth full of waffle.  
"It's bonding and repairing" Karma laughed, our eyes met for a few seconds, 
"ahh okay, I don't see why we couldn't just do that at school?" I said putting more bacon in my mouth. 
"Nature puts everyone out of their comfort zone...at least that's what my Mum says" Karma said as she ate some of her pancakes.  I didn't have any reply to that. I guess she was right.  She always had to be right, and have the last word, or words.  I couldn't believe that I was in love with her once.  

The breakfast soon ended, Lauren came and picked me up early, which I was happy for.  I sat in the front seat and watched the world go by.  

"I thought you were just having breakfast with Shane?" Lauren asked 
"Yeah, and then he asked if he could bring Karma" I sighed.  
"why didn't you just say no" Lauren said as we waited at the lights.  
"I don't know...I'm not very good at saying no to people" I sighed looking at my sister.  
"You guys were friends once, I'm sure you can work it out" Lauren said as the light went green.  
"I don't know if we can, it's all to complicated and I have Haley now" I said with a smile. 
"Haley won't always be there for you, something will happen, and Amy you will need a friend" Lauren sighed.  
"Well I have you don't I?" I asked 
"Well yes, but you need more friends than just me and Haley.  Shane is now friends with Karma so you don't have him. You need more than just two people in your life Amy, you need to let someone else in" 

I knew it was true, Haley and I weren't forever. I needed more friends, but I was terrible at making friends, it was lucky I made friends with Karma, but now everything was different.  I didn't know what to do anymore, and camp was tomorrow.
