"Hello, Neha, beta listen to me. Arun had called up a few minutes ago. You remember Arun Nair right?"

Neha's POV

I had totally forgotten about the proposal! Oh lord! Why did he call up now?
To give his answer stupid!
Oh no, no, no. This is really unexpected. I was never prepared to hear his answer on the phone, that too when I'm not at home.

My inner rambling is cut off by the confused voice of my mom,
"Nehu, hello, are you there?"

"Yes, yes mom, I'm here."

"So what do I say to him?"

"What did he say?"

"Didn't you hear anything that I said a minute ago? Oh god Neha, we said we'll reply to him in 10 minutes. And here you are in your dreamland. I don't understand what to do with your daydreaming habit. How are you going to manage yourself and your family after marriage, how..."

I interrupted her, "Mom, mom, calm down. Your 10 minutes will get over. I'm sorry I didn't listen, so tell me again," and prepared myself for the worst.

"He wanted to talk to you once before giving his answer. He is near your workplace, so he called up and asked whether you'll be able to meet him there in some time. So, I was asking should I message him the cafe's name you are at right now? Are you okay with it or do you want to meet him at some other place?"

"Yes, mom, the cafe is fine. I'll be waiting."

Why does he want to meet me here? He hasn't given any answer too.

"Okay Nehu, call me after he leaves. Take care of yourself and don't be late. Bye."

I put the phone down from my ear and stared at it. A million thoughts passed through my mind in a jiffy. What if he wanted to deny the proposal and is coming to say sorry by buying me a treat? But, what if he asks for my answer first? I still haven't grasped the importance of the situation if he said yes.

Calm down Neha. Calm down. Don't worry it's just a casual meet. You can do this. Just then my phone pinged me with a message.

Mom: He is reaching there in 10 minutes.

Taking a deep breath, I composed myself and looked up. Oh lord! Why does this happen to me only?
