It's been a few days after since Rebekah had a chat with the other Donovan sister and now she was hanging out with Matt at his house. The two were in the kitchen getting popcorn and Rebekah was animatedly talking about something Kol did when Matt realizes in that moment that he should finally confess it. In the back of Rebekah's mind the exact same thought was occurring but she was hesitant sure you had said matt liked her but what if you read it wrong things would be so awkward after and she wasn't ready to risk that not yet. So she pushed it at the back and left it there.
She was about to tell him about how she retaliated to Kol's prank when Matt speaks up ʻʻI love you,Rebekah!ʼʼ he breathes out and she stops mid-sentence.
ʻʻYou what?ʼʼ The blonde original gasps in surprise.
ʻʻI-I love you,Rebekah Mikealson.ʼʼ
The grin that took over her lips made Matt's heart swell. She looked absolutely gorgeous and in that moment he knew she was just misunderstood and loving her was never a mistake.
