Chapter Four

"Wybie?" I shouted, walking into the other room. I had crawled through the door, making sure I had hidden the key in my bag. My breath hitched in my throat when I saw the horrifying scene: Wybie had button eyes sewed into his eyes.

"Wybie..." My voice broke.

"Coraline, this is the real me." He said, montoly. For some reason, it wasn't his real voice. Something in me was trying to tell me that this wasn't him. The other mother brainwashed him.

Tears were spilling out of my eyes, as I angrily looked up at the witch.

"Come here, Coraline." 'Wybie' said, coming closer to me, with a needle in his hands. I shook my head, as I turned to run out, but the door slammed shut and locked the door. I looked up at him, as he smirked.

"Trust me, Coraline."

He pushed me down onto the floor, as I started to scream. The other mother just stood back, with a grin on her face, watching this all play out. I screamed even more, as I felt the needle rip through my flesh.

**

I shot up out of bed, as tears fell down my face. I ran to my mirror, feeling my eyes, making sure that that scene was just a dream. I sighed, feeling my real eyes, as more tears fell down my face.

"Coraline?" A familiar voice came out of the walkie-talkie. My eyes widened, as I reached out to the walkie talkie laying on the floor.

"Coraline? Please." His voice broke.

"Wybie, I'm here." I said, holding the walkie-talkie like my life depended on it.

"Coraline, please hurry. I'm scared." He said, as I got a lump in my throat. "She's a monster."

Suddenly, over the walkie-talkie, I heard a door opening, followed by the other mother's voice.

"Wyborn? What do you think you're doing?" She scorned, sending chills down my spine.

"Coraline, hurry!" He yelled, before the line went dead.

For a good thirty minutes, I laid in my room, holding my walkie-talkie, crying. That was the only way of communicating to Wybie, and now that evil witch broke it. I'm going to get a boatload of revenge on you, Beldam.

*****

I looked over to my alarm clock, seeing the big red bold letters.

1:30 AM

I got up from my bed, heading outside, and into my old apartment, which now belonged to Wybie and his grandmother. I walked inside, looking at the little door that had the key thrown on the floor. I sighed, my breath hitched in my throat.

Once I walked inside, I could hear the other mother scolding Wybie.

"I told you not to talk to her!" She screamed, dragging him by his ear, and dragging him towards the mirror. "And, for that, you will be punished."

"I'm sorry, please." He cried, as I saw her smirk.

"Sorry won't cut it."

I watched in horror, as I saw her push him into the mirror, as I had to cover my hand over my mouth, to prevent me from screaming. She smirked, before going up into her room, before shutting the door.

I tiptoed over to the mirror, trying not to make a sound, as I jumped into the mirror. The room looked the same: same walls, same beds. But, no ghosts, since I freed them last time. Sitting on the bed, was a crying Wybie.

"Wybie?" I asked, trying not to cry. He shot up, before hugging the life out of me.

"I'm so scared, Jonesie." He said, sobbing into my shoulder. I got a lump in my throat, as I hugged him back.

"Don't worry, Wybie." I said, comforting him.

"We're going to get out of here."
