Author note:

As promised, here it is. It's a bit short but I hope you enjoy. :)

-----------------------------------------------------

The suspension of the pick-up truck bounced as I drove along the dirt drive to the Yeager's house. I went to school with Tessa Yeager, although I was in the year above her and I was considered an apprentice of-sorts to her father, Cade Yeager. Turning through the open gate I slowed the truck to a roll, neatly stopping on the grass by the side of the house. I hopped out, leaving my Sig Sauer pistol and double-barrelled pump-action shotgun under the passenger seat, and headed for the barn. Dressed practically in loose fitting black cargo pants, a plain black t-shirt and black trainers I was ready to work, if I was unlucky I would be getting very messy; once a pipe burst on one of Cade's inventions and I got covered in oil.

I internally shivered. 'Ugh...that was not a good day.'

I slipped through the gap between the doors into the slightly cooler interior of the barn. I blinked rapidly, eyes adjusting to the partial decrease in light. Surprise ran through me to see Tessa in the barn with us, as well as Lucas; looking at this beat up semi. Cade spotted me from his position on his console platform.

"(Y/n) brilliant...look at this." Tessa threw me an exasperated smile then turned back to her dad.

I stood next to Tessa and watched as he picked up two cables and connected them. A spark lit up within the grill and I jumped back as a voice issued from the semi.

"Calling all Autobots." I didn't pay attention to the rest as my mind whirled. 'We found a transformer. WE FOUND A TRANSFORMER!'

I looked up to see Cade triumphantly reiterate my thoughts. "I think we just found a transformer."

An impeding feeling of doom settled in my gut.

-------------Very action packed time skip----------------

We stepped out of Optimus' alt-mode. The other transformers pointed guns at us suspiciously. 'They're Autobots (y/n), they won't shoot.' Fat lot of good my internal voice did though. Visibly shaking from the adrenaline and nerves that shot through me, I held my hands above my head and marched forward; ignoring the guns and walking straight for a large boulder. I flopped onto the sand next to said boulder. Hidden in its shadow I watched as Optimus Prime introduced us to the other Autobots. I gave a polite wave when my name was mentioned. Knees pulled up to my chest, I tried to clear my mind and absorb the recent events. Cade finding out about Tessa's secret boyfriend Shane, Lucas's death, the bounty hunter, Cemetery Wind, the fact that I can't go home. 'What are my parents doing, are they safe?' I'd managed to briefly use a payphone to send them a quick I love you and tell them I would be out of contact for a while. I let my mind drift, ignoring the small fight that broke out; although I started smiling absentmindedly at the haiku the blue one said. 'Didn't know alien robots liked poetry.'

"I think that one's broken."

I looked up at the Autobot who'd spoken. It was the green one with, what looked like, goggles and a trench coat. I stared at him with narrowed eyes and furrowed brows. "I am not broken, just seeking peace and quiet, after what's happened." I internally giggled, wondering whether he would pick up on the haiku; not being able to stop a small snigger forcing its way out of me. The Autobot realising and staring at me like I'd personally insulted him. However, there was something else lurking in his eyes, 'Optics?', as well.

The blue one who'd said the other haiku before, perked up and studied me intensely. My eyes flicked over, meeting his briefly and I shifted; suddenly feeling really uncomfortable.

'You try being cool with two giant metal titans staring you down.'

The yellow one, Bumblebee, noticing my discomfort spoke through his radio. "Leave the...(pretty lady/little man)...alone...unless you...thinking of asking...(her/him)...on a date."

The green one spluttered, "as if", while the blue one nodded at him; before looking at me again. "I apologise, he is Crosshairs and I am Drift...and you are (y/n)." I nodded even though it wasn't really a question.

"Sat here in boredom, I look at you both and think, you are idiots." Both Drift and I looked over at Crosshairs. Identical expressions of incredulous surprise on our faces/faceplates at the haiku he just spat out. He shifted "What!? I can't say one too? I can make those haki things better then you anyway."

I snorted. Both bots looking at me incredulously.

"That is brilliant!" I just managed to gasp out the words before I lost it. I tumbled onto my side as my body was wracked with giggles. 'This is too funny.' In between gasping for air like a dying seal and laughing like a maniac, I heard Drift start emitting high pitched clicks and whistles. Crosshairs leapt to his feet, responding in kind.

Slowly curiosity won out and I was able to calm down. They both got louder and faster, stood almost touching and really in each other's faces. I tensed waiting for the first blow to fall. Until a deep hum sounded, followed by a series of whistles. Lower in pitch and louder than theirs. I looked for the source of the noise to see Optimus looking sternly at them. I looked back to see them both back off and lower their heads. I threw a confused look at Tessa, who was cuddling up to Shane. She acknowledged my unspoken plea with a nod and got up. She walked over to where Optimus and Cade had been sat discussing our next move and Cade had been fiddling with a small drone he'd got a hold off. She gestured and both of them leaned closer to them. After whispering a question and getting an equally whispered answer she thanked them and practically skipped over to me.

I raised an eyebrow at the skipping. Upon closer inspection she looked like she was about to start laugh-crying as well. She sat next to me and placed a hand on my shoulder, suddenly wearing a serious expression. "What is it?" I whisper yelled, feeling slightly panicky now. Also noticing the intent staring I was getting from both Drift and Crosshairs.

She looked me dead in the eye, with the most serious voice she could muster she whispered, "Apparently they have both just laid claim to you." I froze. "Explain."

She smiled. "You know what I mean." Unfortunately, I did. I don't know what expression I was wearing but she cracked up. Her forehead came to rest on my shoulder as she both cried and laughed into my shoulder.

I didn't know what to do. I awkwardly rubbed her back while eyeballing Shane. A 'help me' look clearly shown in my eyes.

He got the message and came bounding over. "Come on Tess, let's leave (y/n) to...um...think now." She allowed herself to be led away from me, still giggling away.

'Must be the stress of the day' I thought.

I looked over at the other Autobots again. The one called Hound was sat polishing a gun while Bumblebee shook with silent laughter beside him. He suddenly stopped, looked at me and then fell over laughing once more. I rolled my eyes at that and shook my head.

The two bots who had supposedly 'laid claim' to me were still sending me intent, 'hopeful!?', glances.

In such a confuzzled state as I was, I just went with my first instinctual reaction. To smile brightly at both of them. Crosshairs started resolutely staring at the cliff face like he wanted to blow it up, while Drift suddenly found great interest in the floor.

I faintly heard Optimus mention something about having the same trouble with Bumblebee. I looked over to see Cade switching between glaring at Shane with Tessa and sending me highly amused glances.

I almost screamed with relief when Optimus and Cade called us to order, to explain their plan.

Pain flashed through me, as we watched some of their comrades be hunted down and executed by that dreaded Cemetery Wind. The videos leading to a tangible sadness settling over us.

A lone tear tracked its way down my face as I watched. Not noticing the alarmed look Crosshairs sent my way. Similarly, when we were picking partners, Drift practically yelled that he would take me.

'I have to admit I'm...I don't know if flattered is the right word.'

The decision was made that we would set out tomorrow morning. I had fled Cemetery Wind in my pick-up truck and so still had my weapons. I would be providing cover for Tessa and Shane should Cemetery Wind catch them on any of their supply runs. Similarly, providing cover for Cade when we infiltrate KSI.

Hound had questioned my ability to handle a gun, saying that all members of a team have to be perfect. I responded by shooting that bullet/cigar right out of his mouth; with one hand. He didn't even feel it. He sent me a grudgingly respectful huff at that.

When I went to settle down to sleep for the night, don't think I didn't notice Crosshairs follow me like a freaking puppy. Drift sending him a warning look and settling down not too far from me on the opposite side to Crosshairs.

I lay down, in the open back of my truck and looked up at the stars. With what we were planning and the added complication of the two Autobots who were, for some reason known only to them, fighting over me; 'I don't know why they would pick me off all people'. Only one thought was running through my head. 'This is going to be interesting.'
