4 // From Fist to Face
Xavier's POV:
I watched as the Alpha of the Forrest pack entered the ring. Although she had well toned muscles, I doubted very much that she'd be able to beat the mass of muscle from the Hungrian Pack. As if hearing my thoughts, her head snapped up to look at me and her dark brown eyes glared at me. Ah. The feisty woman from the elevator. I resisted the urge to smirk and simply raised my eyebrows at her which infuriated her more as her lips turned into a thin line.
"Now," the referee began, "let me read out the rules before we begin." From the on I tuned out, already having heard this a hundred times. As I surveyed the room, my eyes found the Forrest pack staring intently at their Alpha, who had already begun to fight. Curious, I gestured to my second in command, Kaylie, and asked her about their backgrounds.
"I couldn't find much Xav. That kid they've got there, Jake, I heard he's a genius with computers and all that technological stuff. He probably erased every trace of information connected to them."
I glanced at the boy she was pointing at and noted that although he seemed bored, as if he was used to watching his Alpha fight, his eyes were scanning the room discreetly. Smart boy, I thought.
"-what I do know is that their pack is notorious for these fights. Their Alpha shows no mercy and will stop at nothing to get to the top."
Right on cue, there was a cry of pain from the ring and I turned my eyes back just in time to see the Forrest Alpha kick the huge bulk forcefully on the knee and he collapsed onto the floor as I heard the bones break. Her eyes snapped up to look at the score boards and I saw her feral gaze. This wasn't an ordinary fight. This was an animalistic fight. And the look in her eyes told me she was fighting for survival.
Natalie's POV
I smirked as I slammed my fist into my fifth opponents face. He didn't last two seconds and I nearly laughed. "Honey did you read the notice that said this was a fight, not a playground?" He growled at me and massaged his face, wincing in pain as he walked off the arena.
The announcer called up my next opponent and I wiped the blood of my face. Gods. I really need to protect my face more before I became a walking body with a corpse for a face.
The whistle blew and once again the battle commenced. This time my opponent was smarter. And faster.
He slammed his elbow into my face and my eyes watered. "Little shit." Although I swore at him, I was actually smiling. Finally, someone who could actually fight.
The crowd cheered as I successfully ducked his flying fist and threw a kick to his abdomen. He growled and got back up quickly and I sighed. "Do you know why I fight?" It was a rhetorical question and he barely grunted as he lunged for me. Avoiding it easily, I continued, "I like the power I get from it. I enjoy watching my opponents writhe in pain. And you know what makes it even more enjoyable? Seeing the fear in my enemy's eyes." My words triggered something in him and he saw the sinister glint in my eyes as he backed away slowly. I edged forward. I threw a punch to his face and kicked him down. Grabbing his hair, I pulled him towards me and whispered, "I'm a savage. I'm a beast. And you know what makes me such an unbeatable opponent? My determination to survive." I stared into his eyes and grinned as I punched him one last time, rendering him unconscious. I looked up and met the territory's Alpha's eyes. He looked at me impassively and I looked back coldly. I was going to win this fight. Then I could take one step closer to my goal. And...get the prize money of £500 from elevator guy himself. I turned away from him to look at my cheering family and I could feel his eyes burning into my back. Shouldn't have agreed to let us rouges fight on your land, rookie Alpha. These fights weren't for inexperienced cubs. They were for cold hearted bastards. Like me.
