Wailing alarms and ear wrenching explosions was not how she expected the next day to go, she was briefly told about meeting up with the Kiheitai once more and taking over one of the Harusame bases but... She didn't expect to get ambushed by them, apparently they had foresaw their movements and laid a trap. Now she was beating anything that moved as she made her way to the front of the ship where the pilots were preparing to leave asap.
She had no idea where the commander and vice commander were, likely annihilating more and more attackers. Loud explosions shook the ship as it fled after the Kiheitai, she fell to her knees after a large jolt; confused, she hurried forward. It seems luck wasn't on their side as panels and walls from the ship peeled away under the pressure of whoever was destroying it, revealing the ship to the space outside causing tremendous suction. She could only expect a strong fighter rival to her captain to be onboard.
And because there is legit no detail on how the hell they survived and got to Rakuyou... Here's a timeskip.
She strolled through the rain on the streets of what she discovered to be her captain's birthplace, melancholic almost, she looked up under her umbrella at the sky that didn't seem to be close to letting up. With a sigh, she continued forward; returning to the base Abuto had told her about.
Except she ran into a familiar looking man on the way there. First thing she did after looking at his face was poke both fingers into his eyes, he yelled and clutched his eyes; extremely confused as to why this random lady had just jabbed him in the face. Although after peeking through his hands with his throbbing eyes, he realised something.
"Haven't we met somewhere before? I'm getting deja vu."
The woman looked easily as shocked and confused as he did, "It was on instinct, you smell different. Although that may just be your rotting boots." She apologised? "We met a few times on my planet, you walked in on my bath the first time." She explained, getting painful flashbacks of a balding man striding into her bathroom.
Recognition crossed his eyes as he too remembered walking into someone's bathroom; seeing a pretty, naked, girl before his eyes felt like they'd been pushed to the back of his head and he crashed into a wall. "You're Momoe? You've grown... But what are you doing here?" He asked, standing up with bloodshot eyes.
"You were the one who attacked our ship weren't you? It would make sense for you to be the one to do all that damage." She muttered, remembering the conversation she had a while ago of Kamui telling her about Umibozu being his father.
"You're one of that shitty brat's subordinates?" He asked a question of his own, voice lowering dangerously; even if they shared tea that one time.
"No, I should think he wouldn't call me that. What I am to your son is irrelevant, I'm not going to interfere in your business Otou-sama." She replied in a soft voice, before walking away. The infamous man took a while to conceive her words before his eyes widened and he trailed after her with an interrogative expression.
"Are you implying what I think you're implying!? My idiot son!? Him!? You!? Are you sure!?" He rambled, much to the amusement of Momo, she gave a gentle smile at the flustered man before sighing happily.
"Aren't you going to kill him?" She questioned, not looking at the man walking beside her as he flinched. "It's been a while since I've seen such a dedicated father." She mused, walking ahead and leaving the man to catch up.
When he did, he stayed a few paces behind; "And your own father?" He asked back, retaining his stoic expression once more. She exhaled a long breath along with a frown that he couldn't see;
"I killed him a long time ago." She answered, she could fathom his shock as his footsteps changed rhythm for a moment. "It was a far different situation than your own, I've already been drowned in black, there is no salvation for me. Even if I left the battle and became a normal citizen, perhaps even a mother; I wouldn't be free from it." She turned around with a heartbreaking wistful smile, with silent tears running down her face; distinguishable from the rain.
He stopped, eyes wide in overwhelming stupefaction; he had no idea of the circumstances surrounding her actions, but her eyes seemed regretful. Something like, she didn't want his family to end up with only one member. Before he noticed, she had left his sight and he was abandoned in the middle of a random street.
Before long, heavy explosions could be both heard and seen on the mountain where the hideout was supposed to be; Momo was below in the streets, but she suspected that Abuto wasn't caught up in it. She guessed it was the Harusame, taken over by the Tendoshuu probably; even more to her guess was the fact of men bombarding her in the street. With no hesitation, she shut her umbrella and shot them all down from the sky and ground, harshly kicking the few that dodged or survived to death. With a dark expression and small blood splatters over her face and clothes, she proceeded forward. She saw masses of smoke rise from a certain points nearby and from the array of shots fired at the mountain, soon the shadows of the ships above covered the town; with a frown she headed towards the mountain where she could only guess people were.
Then she began to think of where her captain went, since she hadn't actually seen where he was blown off to... Of course he isn't dead but, he's kinda missing the fun.
"You should have knocked." A feminine voice sighed, moving the boiled tea pot to the table where an older man sat rubbing his eye. He looked over at her as she placed it down along with two cups, "So, what brings you to this planet?"
"I heard about an uncharted planet with no orbit harbouring dangerous beasts and an overwhelmingly powerful lifeform, would that be you? You don't look like an alien, just a child." He took a sip from the cup after she poured it, thanking her. She sat down with a stoic expression, devoid of any emotion, and stared at him.
"I'd expect it to be. I'm not sure how the rumor started as you have been the only visitor since I got here." She explained, taking a sip of her tea slowly before looking out of the window beside them, "The animals here are not dangerous but playful. They, alongside myself, are stuck here with no company but each other. However, unlike them, I believe I deserve to be here; I've done things that a even a life of isolation cannot clean me of the sins." She continued, "And I am no alien, I'm from the same race as you."
He was confused by her explanation, surprised and reminiscent. "What do you mean, you belong here?"
She closed her eyes and exhaled, "Nothing but these creatures can live here. I believe if I continue to stay then I'll have died by the time I'm 30. A painful and long expected death like that is what fits me best." He was stunned by her words, she was killing herself?
"You mean to say you came here to die?" He repeated, she shook her head.
"I was abandoned here by pirates, left to die. The time I've spent here thinking, I've concluded that I should die here slowly, sadly, and in solitude. I don't deserve anything more." She disclosed, he stared at her in wonder.
"But you can leave can't you?" He asked, even if it was an obvious question. She looked back at him with a frown.
"I cannot without a ship. But I do not wish to leave." She stated, "Even if I leave, the poison from the planet will still be inside of me; my lifespan will be considerably shortened if it does not kill me beforehand. The poison my body has adapted to, although it's killing me, I cannot live without it. I'll bet leaving this environment will speed up the process." She sighed, placing her cup down and looking back out of the window at a few birds flying past; betraying sadness, loneliness, and longing in her dull eyes. He put his cup down and stood up.
"Then you just need a cure."
