What's Not To Love? {Portgas D. Ace x Reader}

His Bashfulness.

Luffy harbors a massive happy-go-lucky grin as he reads out the joke that came in his Christmas cracker to the entire table. The boy being the only person who hasn't looked at you and Ace with wiggling eyebrows the whole time you've been here and surely that's because he simply doesn't understand the situation.

You had originally planned to leave and let Ace spend Christmas with his family, but Newgate wouldn't allow nothing of the sort. The old man insisting that you stay for dinner claiming that a girlfriend of Ace's is a new addition to the family and therefore, she's always welcome. Especially on Christmas day.

Luckily for you, you just so happen to be his girlfriend and didn't necessarily have any family of your own waiting for you at home so you decided to take Newgate up on his offer and stay for dinner.

"What do you get when you cross Santa with a duck?" Luffy voices the joke, the table having only a split second to think before he begins to snicker, blurting the answer out also. "Shishishi~ A Christmas quacker~!!"

"Damn it yoi, that's not how you do it!"

"So what is the situation with you two~?" Thatch teases pointing his fork toward you and Ace, a suggestive smirk already plastered across his face before either you or the freckled male so much as utter a single word.

"Finally, someone asked." Marco snorts sitting opposite Thatch, receiving a nudge in the ribs from your elbow. The seating arrangements being a somewhat disadvantage to you, Newgate sits at one end of the table. You and Ace sat next to each other which is nice, BUT Marco is sat next to you. Across from Marco sits Thatch. And across from you, Koala. Then across from Ace, Sabo. And Luffy on the other end of the large dining table. 

"Come on, guys!" Sabo mutters under his breath, his face already beginning to grimace as he brings his drink to his face. "Not at the table." Of course, Thatch and Marco wait until Sabo starts to drink before they continue.

"So, [F/n]." Thatch starts, a mischievous smirk etched into his features and his hand resting on his cheek. "That chicken leg sitting on your plate," Your eyes instinctively trailing down to the piece of meat before you, a content smile on your face. You actually can't wait to dig into th-- "Is it bigger or smaller than my little brother's dick?"

The question causing Sabo to choke on his drink while Newgate chokes on his food. The two turning their heads away from the table as they cough up their lungs. Of course, the scene has Koala, Thatch and Marco in fits of giggles. Ace taking the opportunity to flick a pea at Thatch whilst 'Pops' is distracted. 

"Anyone want this chicken leg?" You nervously murmur, your appetite for the meat now gone. To be frank, you doubt you could sink your teeth into it now without an image of biting Ace's...lower region popping up in your head. Luffy already reaching over the table for it with an excited grin plastered across his face. 

"More meat shishishi~!"

"DON'T PUT THE LASS OFF OF HER FOOD, THATCH!" Newgate blurts when he finally finds his voice, the large man gesturing to Koala. "Give that idiot a slap around the head for me, will ya girlie?" 

Of course she happily complies, Koala leaning toward Thatch as the brunette tries to escape her reach but to no avail. It only takes a few moments before a loud slap echos throughout the dining room. Marco, Sabo and Ace all laughing at their brother's misfortune and Thatch rubbing his red cheek with a clear pout on his face. She's always swatting the brother's when they step out of line, they all seem to see her as a sister nowadays.

"Oh, to answer your question, Thatch." You politely murmur, a very pale smirk gracing your lips. The boys all looking up at you in curiosity, even Newgate had stopped eating his food to listen to your answer. "He's much bigger than the leg, probably not as big as your hairstyle though." 

You had to resist the urge to grin as Marco, Sabo and Newgate chuckle at Thatch's expense. Even Koala was giggling, the girl using her hands to try and hide her laughter. Ace sending his older brother a cheeky smirk as he wraps an arm around your neck.

"Aha, you hear that guys~? My girl has sass that none of you can handle~!" 

The word 'My girl' having you just about melt in your seat. Seems you're not the only one who caught that part though. "Oh? 'My girl' is it yoi~?" Marco hums, the blonde raising a brow as he quizzes his younger brother but the smile gracing his lips says that he's happy for you both despite his teasing.

"Good!" Newgate rumbles, the old man looking just as esteemed as Marco. "That's two of my boys settling down. And what about you two, eh?" He mocks as he eyeballs both Thatch and Marco, his brows furrowing. "Are you two gonna hurry up and find somebody or are ya gonna end up marrying each other?!" 

Of course, Newgate was just messing with them but the comment sure caught you off guard, a small snicker leaving your lips. However, the snicker only escalates the more you think about it, soon turning into a hearty laughter when you realize the look of complete horror on both Thatch and Marco's faces.

"That's just wrong yoi."

"So...is Thatch a woman?" Luffy blurts, the boy only being sociable because he's out of food. "Is that why he takes longer than Koala in the shower?" A snort escaping Marco's lips as he shakes his head.

 "Oh no yoi, he takes long in the shower because he's thinking abo--OW!" A simple pea being the culprit to Marco not finishing his sentence. Instead of Ace, it was Thatch flicking peas this time. The brunette blushing madly as he glares across the table at the blonde. 

"Shut your mouth, Marco! I know things about you, ya little asshole!" The threat only falling on deaf ears since Marco's still thrashing around in his seat, his hand pressed against his eye.

"That hurt like a bitch! RIGHT IN MY PUPIL YOI! Are you tryna blind me?!"

Ace giving you a subtle poke to draw in your attention. Your heart essentially meting as you look to him, the freckled male holding a genuine, sweet smile as he tilts his head to the side. "Wanna go to the Christmas parade event with me later~?"

I've got no idea what the hell that is but...going somewhere with Ace? I'm always up for that!

"Awww~ They're going on a date yoi~!"

"Sh-Shut up, Marco. I was speaking to my girlfriend, not you!"

A stuttering Ace? That's too cu--HE CALLED ME HIS GIRLFRIEND!!
