"hang on, so you mean to tell me he was an hour late for your date, brought you flowers, and all is suddenly forgiven? hyo-sonn, are you actually insane?"

rolling her eyes, hyo-sonn glared at her brother. "you know, there isn't anything wrong with forgiving someone when they've done something wrong. you show up late to our meetings all the time, and you don't see me putting up too much of a fight about it."

gently flicking her on the forehead, hyo-jin retorted, "listen, i'm your brother. i'm the only one that can do that. this boy can't. and what was his excuse anyways?"

"something about losing track of time and meeting up with an old friend or something like that."

hyo-jin set his cup of coffee down and turned a bit to face his sister on her couch. "i know you can understand that, but something about that seems fishy. and i'm not sure what it is, but i don't like it."

hyo-sonn stood and grabbed her cup and her brother's cup. she padded into the kitchen and began pouring some more for the both of them. across the open bar top, she replied, "and why would you think something like that?"

hyo-jin turned back to face the TV when she re-entered the room. "thank you for the coffee by the way. but honestly. no guy is late for a date with someone when he's 'just meeting up with an old friend'. that doesn't happen."

"you know, i think you're just suspicious of the fact that i have found one decent guy that i actually like and, for the matter, likes me too."

hyo-jin sighed. "i'm not trying to take away from that hyo-sonn. i'm happy for you. i'm just saying that if this begins to become a recurring thing, or you notice some other things that just aren't normal for him, then you need to be a little suspicious."

"but i thought guys didn't like it when girls got suspicious of what they were doing."

"we don't like it." he paused, picking up his coffee cup and swirling the liquid a bit. "but if you aren't suspicious, then there's no telling what he might be getting away with, right under your nose."

"you know, i think you're just overreacting."

"i'm just trying to help you out in case something actually comes from this. if i'm wrong, then you can tell me you told me so. but if not..."
