two hours later in that coffee shop and yixing found himself loosed up much more than when he had first walked in. the pair reminisced from their past, talked about where they were going with their futures, and spoke in a way like nothing had changed between them. yixing, however, was broken out of his reverie by the buzzing of his phone.

hyo-sonn

yixing? where are you?

you were supposed to meet me hour ago.

yixing quickly checked his watch to find the time to be 6:40 now. he glanced up at the girl sitting in front of him. when he seemed to begin to understand what had happened, he was nearly tripping over  himself trying to get out of there. when she inquired where he was going, he was pulling on his coat and sputtering apologies about standing someone up.

he pulled out his phone and attempted to call hyo-sonn to no avail. he texted her to ask her where she was. about ten minutes later his phone buzzed with her reply.

hyo-sonn

well. i went home. i like you yixing,
but not enough to wait in 40 degree weather
for an hour for you.

so i went home.

yixing made it to a street corner and began heading to a flower shop across the street. he didn't think it would be a complete apology, but he felt that doing it in person would be a start.

yixing

could i maybe come see you?

i don't want to apologize over
text. i'd rather tell you myself.

read @ 7:06 p.m.

hyo-sonn

fine. where are you close to?
i'll come meet you.

yixing

no. stay close to where you are.

read @ 7:10 p.m.

how about that park really close
to your place?

read @ 7:15 p.m.

hyo-sonn

that sounds fine yixing.
i'll see you in a bit.

and about twenty minutes and a near sprint later, he found her bundled up in a black coat and scarf on a park bench. since he came up behind her he decided to hold the flowers behind his back and place a gloved hand over at least one eye.

"guess who?"

"hello there yixing."

he sat down tentatively next to her. slowly, he held out the flowers and he could've sworn he had seen her expression soften a little bit. "i'm really sorry. i was meeting up with an old friend and time got away from me and I'm just really really sorry."

hyo-sonn gently took the flowers from him, eyeing them some. after a moment, she said, "you remembered that daisies were my favorite."

as he smiled, the dimple she loved so much came through. "of course i remembered that daisies were your favorite."
