Care to explain why?

After Alex left with Lucas I was left with my two other friends,Taylor and Natalie.

"So what's up?" I asked as I sat down.

"Well, we were in school getting a education how about you?" Natalie ask, tension clear in her voice.

"Well you already know I wasn't in school." I shot back.

Looking back and forward between Natalie and me, Taylor slowly moved his glasses into place and cough slightly.

"Have you ate yet?" Taylor asked while looking at me.

"Yea I grabbed a bit before heading back to school."

"That's good." Taylor said trying to ease the tension Natalie created.

We sat in an awkward silence as Taylor played with his food and Natalie glancing at me every once and a while.

After another painful 5 minutes of awkwardness the bell rang. I mumbled goodbye to the two of them and headed to class. Walking down the hallway I noticed a dark red head girl struggling to pick up her scattered paper that a jock knocked out of her hand.

Walking up to the girl and passing the jock I noticed it was Austin, the newbie who messed with Alex.

He shot me a wink and a smirk where as I rolled my eyes at him.

I started to collect the papers that were farther anyway from her until I came across a hand grabbing for the same one.

I looked up to meet reddish brown eyes staring at me.

"Sorry, um here." I said handing her, her papers.

She smiled and grabbed them.

I stood up and helped her onto her feet.

Looking at her I felt like I've seen her before.

"Hey, haven't I seen you from somewhere?"

Looking at me she just stood there nervously.

As I stared at her I tried to recall where I have seen her, until it hit me.

"Hey wait a second, you are one of Alex friends."

Again she just smiled and nodded.

"So wait..... if you're one of Alex's friend why do you let Austin pick on you?"

She opened her mouth to speak but closed it.

"Well I guess I should head to class I don't want to be even more late." I said as I felt another awkward silence coming up.

She nodded her head and stepped aside.

Walking down the hall I remember I never told her my name so I turned around.

"Oh and I'm skylar."

she turned around and smiled before speaking softly.

"Ruby."

I smiled before turning around and going to my class.

"For a sin she is really quiet." I thought to myself.

As I predicted I got late to my class so I soon found myself in a lecture about being late.

After the lecture I find the rest of the day to be a blurr changing from a class to another.

I found my self walking automatically where I had to be.

Before I knew it, school finish and I was heading to my locker to grab and leave what I did and didn't need to take home.

As I proceed to go to my locker the all to similar blonde jock was with Ruby again.

Stupid Austin.

As I approach him I tuned in on their conversation.

"Oh come on babe I promise I'll be gently." Austin said.

"Leave me alone."

"Or what you'll get Alex on me? We both know you won't, so stop being a bitch and come with me." Austin said as he grabbed onto Ruby's arm.

"Hey dickshit leave her alone." I found myself saying.

Looking back Austin glance at me and smirk.

"New flash babe you're old school get lost."

I looked at Ruby and noticed her eyes brighten a bright red.

I still didn't know her sin so I have no idea what she can do to him.

She caught my eyes and held it until I saw Austin loosen his grip on her.

Seeing how Austin loosen his grip Ruby quick slipped out of it and before I knew it, she was next to me.

Austin seem kind of tired all of the sudden so I turned my attention to Ruby for an explanation, but Ruby had another plans. She grabbed my hand and ran down the hall and out the school building.

All of this happen so fast I almost tripped over my own foot twice.

As soon as we were outside of the school, Ruby's eyes went back to normal.

"What sin are you?" I found myself asking.

She looked at me for a moment before speaking.

"Sloth."

Nodding my head I looked around at our surrounding before my eyes landed on someone I knew.

"Hey Ruby are you fine to go home or do you want me to take you?"

I said as I keep staring at the person.

"I'm fine I'll get a ride."

I looked at Ruby for a second to see if she was telling the trust.

"Ok then."

She smiled at me before saying goodbye and walking away to which I respond goodbye.

I made sure to keep watching until I saw she was with someone she knew. She ended up saying hello to David another sin.

I turned my attention back to the previous person I was staring at before I proceeded to walk to them.

The person smiled at me and I smiled back.

When I was finally in front of them I opened my mouth to speak.

"Care to explain why my whole life is a lie, dad?"

Ahhhhhhh goes this own month has been crazy. So this month I've been studying for my finals exams!!!!! But any whose thought I should update since I didnt want to leave you hanging.
