I didn't get more sleep after I realized the impossible with Alex. I was quiet freak out because I couldn't locate Alex's heart beat. I tried telling myself that her heart beat was just very quiet but the more I thought about it, the more I got freaked out. First, the black blood, now no heart beat, there is something wrong with Alex and I determined to find out.

Or not, I mean I could always forget about it, seeing that I only have to deal with Alex until the project is over and my dad comes back.  

No! I had to find out, yep that is what I'm going to do.

I was in deep thoughts when I felt the sun's ray kiss my cheeks. I was shock that I stayed up all night but knew I will end up paying for not sleeping.

I felt Alex's breathing pick up and her arm around me moving slowly. I pretended to be asleep until I heard Alex speak.

"Hey Skylar, wake up we have school today."

Pretending to be upset that she woke me I quickly got up glad to be away from Alex.

She looked at me with a frown before coming closer to me,

"Are you ok, your eyes are reddish?" She asked grabbing my chin to look into my eyes.

Moving my head to see myself, I looked at my mirror.

My once light blue eyes were now a dark blue surrounding by red. I knew due to lack of sleep my eyes would be red but I decided to play the victim of it,

"I'm fine, I just got a headache and my eyes hurt a little but I'll be ok."

Confused at my statement Alex stood there perplexed.

"Are you sure, I might you have been taking your medicine right?" She asked.

"Yea I have, doesn't mean their going to work." I mumbled.

Scratching her head she licked her lips. Looking at the clock on my wall she then turned her attention back to me.

"Well you can't go to school looking like that much less feeling like crap." She asked.

"Well I don't have much of a chance now do I."

Signing she ran a hand through her hair.

"Just stay home for today, I'll pick up your homework and explain to your teachers why you couldn't come."

"Ok thanks. Oh and can you tell Natalie and Taylor why I couldn't come too."

"Who?"

"My friends."

she stood in front of me with a confuse face before the light bulb above her head went off.

"Oh Natalie, I remember her but I don't know Taylor."

"Well he hangs with her, so."

"Well I mean I could try, but you know it will be weird if I go up to them."

"Fine, forget I mention it, I'll just tell them tomorrow."

Alex bit her bottom lips before stealing a glance at the clock.

"Look I would love to keep this conversation going but I need to go to school, I'll come back as soon as school ends."

"Ok." I responded.

Alex then proceeded to walk over to my bathroom to change into some clothes. After five minutes or so Alex came out wearing rip jeans and a dark purple jacket that really made her eyes pop out. She had her hair down and her bangs had that nice curl that fell over her left eyes,
