Chapter 2 - Melody

Taiga's POV

We walked towards the large gate as we continue on our exam. When I turned to my left, I saw Killua and Gon walking side by side again. I walked closer to Killua, Kurapika and Leorio are still at the back of us walking together.

"Hey, Killua. Do you know how to cook?" I questioned.

"Sure" He responded expressionless.

"Really? I'm not really good at it" I shyly said trying to keep up the conversation.

We stopped as we saw a very fat guy with a large belly. And a woman who's sitting comfortably on a sofa.

"Listen! This is the second phase of the Hunter Exam! We are the Second phase examimers. My name is Menchi and this is Buhara."

"In this phase, we are going to test your COOKING SKILLS!!" Everyone seems shocked.

"What?"

"Are you serious?!"  After a few minutes of arguing about how lame being a goumet hunter can be, Menchi finally snapped.

She stood up from where she sat.

*Smash*

"Don't interfere, Buhara" She demanded coldly.

"If I didn't, then you would have killed him" She went back to her seat.

"Alright!! You're going to cook us roasted pigs using the wildest pig in the world. Located only in this island!" Menchi said

Everyone looks at the forest. We ran towards the forest to look for the pigs.

"Ah! There it is!" Gon shouted, catching everyone's attention. In a wide space, a number of pigs are found eating grasses. Gon and the others ran towards the pigs to beat them up. Unfortunately, they didn't catch any of the pigs.

"Hit them on the back of their necks" I said, I felt a cold ran down my spine when everyone's attention was suddenly on me.

"FAIL!"

"FAIL!"

"FAIL!" This has been continuing for 30 minutes now. Almost half of the examiners failed.

"Come on! Isn't anyone here good at gourmet!?" I bet she's still being petty. I turned towards kill.

"You're still not finish there?"

"You're the one talking, you're not even doing anything." He responded

"That's 'cause I don't know how to start" I replied nervously

"Then you better hurry. 'Cause me and Gon will make it with just ONE try!" He said confidently.

"Uhhh... " I nervously answered.

"TADA~!" His roasted pork looks delicious. Impressive...

"I think she won't like that at all" I said looking at it.

"Stop being so negative, you're discouraging me."

"Sorry, it was just because she's been failing everyone even though some of the dishes were actually pretty tasty. This is perhaps about the--"

"Sorry, I gotta go. Talk to you later, hey Gon!" He called out.

He walked towards the examiners. He placed his plate full of pork, well made and tender-looking too. She picks up the fork and knife. She cuts the pork gently, you can see the tenderness inside the meat.

*Ting!* Buhara displayed a "pass" sign.

"Yes!" Killua whispered excitedly.

"Fail!" She said and leaned back to her couch.
