Miraculous Ladybug One-Shots

It's Valentine's Day, a year after Kim was akumatized into Dark Cupid, and the city of Paris is yet again filled with love.

Marinette scrambled back and forth in her room, searching for a pen.

"Marinette, you're going to be late if you keep looking for a pen! Just forget about it!" The ladybug kwami spoke, hoping the young hero would give up on the pen.

"But I have to sign this note! If I don't, Adrien will never know it's from me!" Marinette replied. Tikki sighed and flew off and searched for a pen. Tikki came back with a pen in her hands and handed them to Marinette. Marinette grabbed the pen quickly before scribbling her name neatly on the note. She then ran out her room, down the stairs, kissed her parents goodbye and rushed off to school, the note firmly in her hands.

Marinette ran into school and into the classroom, a minute after the bell rang. Mrs. Bustier scolded Marinette for being late, but gave her one more chance. Marinette slipped into her seat beside Alya, and showed her the note. The blogger read it to herself and smiled.

"When are you going to give it to him?" Alya asked. Marinette shrugged, unsure of what her own answer would be. Her eyes wandered away from Alya and to the blond in front of her. Marinette sighed and she started to daydream about Adrien again.

Adrien was getting ready for school, and of course, Plagg had to be eating Camembert in front of him.

"Plagg!" Adrien complained, not enjoying the smell. Plagg just grinned as he gulped down another piece. Adrien shook his head and continued his daily routine.

Now, since it was Valentine's Day, Adrien would want to confess to Ladybug, properly. He tried to a year ago but was shot by one of Dark Cupid's arrows, protecting his lady. But now, sure he still loved Ladybug, but he was slowly starting to develop feelings for the girl who sits behind him in class. His love life then got confusing, he had no idea who he'd love for all his life. (Ahem, same person) Adrien couldn't decide. Now that it was Valentine's Day again, he'd just suck it up and hope something will happen between him or Ladybug, or Marinette.

Marinette awaited for class to end for lunch. She'd give him the note then. That's how it was supposed to be, give Adrien the note and then done! But that isn't how it went at all.

Marinette exited the classroom, and searched for Adrien. She spotted him at his locker and walked over, only to be stopped by Chloé.

"And where do you think your going?" Chloé asked, her attitude horrible as usual. Marinette slowly pointed toward Adrien.

"Over there," She replied, hoping Chloé would just back off. Chloé sneered at the girl and grabbed the note from her and read it to herself.

"Are you serious? I mean, how could you possibly believe that Adrien likes you? It's obvious he likes me and not trash like you," Chloé spoke. She tore the note in half and laughed to herself as she walked away. Marinette tried to not let Chloé's words get to her, but they were slowly eating away at her, and she could break. Marinette taped her note back together, and tears were threatening to flow from her eyes. She ran out of the school and into a nearby alleyway, crying her eyes out.

What would she know? She's just a snobby little brat who'd lie for anything. But what if she's right about Adrien? But still, Chloé's just so cruel. Why is she even here? Marinette thought to herself. Tears continued to flow as the thought of Adrien never loving her crossed her mind.

A black butterfly was fluttering across the city, searching for the perfect victim. It found Marinette and settled itself on the note.

"Lady Misfortune, I am Hawkmoth. You don't like people who are rude to you, correct? Well, you can make them love you. But, if you want these powers you're going to have to get me Ladybug and Chat Noir's miraculous. Are you up to the task?" Marinette tried to overcome the voice in her head, but slowly, one side of her gave in.
