"Please." I sobbed looking at the Sorceress' shadow. "Please you cannot."
"Your family destroyed my life," The women's voice shook as thunder, lightning and rain shook the earths core. Rain soaked through my clothes and skin leaving me a shaking mess on the dirt and floor. "Your family murdered everything that I have ever loved and they took everything that I could love."
"But I did none of these things." I sobbed my body and voice shaking from both fear and the cold.
"But you will." Her voice was quiet but the wind carried her tones all the same. Her hands rose as my sobs continued, and her voice shook with power.
"By your hand the one you love the most will die, after and only after you both say those three words. I love you."
For years I avoided love like the plague until the prophecy was merely a dream and the memory of it no longer clouded my mind.

"How can you not like this?" The Knights threw their accusing words at me and I laughed.
"I have never liked apples." I truthfully stated, watching the Knights stuff their faces full of fresh apple pie.
"Gwen has prepared it specially," Leon winked at me as I strode over to the table, plucking a grape from the bunch before taking a seat next to Gwaine.
"What is the occasion?" I questioned picking another grape off the table, placing it into my mouth with glee.
"Must there be an occasion?" Gwaine questioned as the rest of the knight's gazes averted mine.
"Gwaine," I started my tone half harsh with my eyebrows raised.
"We are celebrating your birth." Gwaine grinned as my mouth dropped.
"How did you find out my birthday? I questioned softly my voice shaking.
"I-uh," the Knights all stuttered but I met each of their eyes.
"Tell me how." I repeated my voice stronger this time.
"Merlin told us," Gwaine mumbled under his breath and I sighed, mentally cursing telling the boy. "Do not be mad at him I wanted him to tell me."
"Why?" I questioned turning to look at the frustratingly gorgeous man.
"A beautiful girl like you should celebrate on her birthday." I blushed under his words, instantly forgetting why I was angry in the first place.

Crying, I ran through the castle, tears streaming down my cheeks. I just got news from my mother that my brother, my only brother, had died. I had never even imagined losing my brother. When I was younger I would tease him saying I wished to be an only child, but I never imagined losing him.
A strong pair of arms dragged me out from the hallway and into a room. Recognising his face I buried my face into Gwaine's chest. His arms wrapped around me, giving me slight comfort, as his hands stroked across the back of my head. I opened my mouth to explain why I was crying but nothing but sobs came out.
"I know, I heard." He whispered his voice calming my mind but my sobs continued.
"He is gone, I cannot believe he is gone." I sobbed pulling away and Gwaine's hands stoked across my cheeks.
"I know, I know." My eyes could not stop crying and they were directed at the floor when lifted his hands to cup my face. I looked him in the eyes as his words caught my attention. "Hey, hey, look at me. I promise you are going to be okay."
"How?" I whispered and he smiled at me.
"Because I promise I will be here every step of the way."

"Merlin, where is Gwaine?" I questioned causing him to grin at me. I rolled my eyes but a rosy blush creeped in over my cheeks.
"Out in the courtyard." I walked away mumbling a thanks when he called my name capturing my attention. "Try not to lose yourself into his eyes." He mocked and I rolled my eyes once again.
"Gee thanks Merlin!" I sarcastically said as I walked away to his laughter.
"Gwaine," I called once I reached the courtyard. He turned around, a grin touching his lips as he saw me.
"Ah y/n I was expecting your presence." He grinned at me and I laughed walking down the steps to.
"To what do I owe the pleasure?" I questioned causing Gwaine to flash his award winning smile at me.
"I wanted to bask in your beauty." Gwaine winked at me and I smiled a blush grazing across my cheeks.
"Laying it on a bit thick today aren't you." I questioned and he laughed.
"Always." He winked and I laughed. Gwaine extended his hand outwards and I took it, lacing my fingers in his own. "Plus I wanted to show you something." In silence he led me out the Camelot walls and into the woods. In minuted we reached a clearing with a blanket, candles surrounded by baskets of food.
"Oh my," I gasped letting go of his hands and carefully trending over to the blanket. "It is so beautiful, but why?"
"Can I not treat a beautiful girl with a picnic in the woods without an ulterior motive?" He questioned and I laughed.
"Come on Gwaine." I raised my eyebrow at him as his features composed himself. "Tell me why." He pursed his lips but I continued talking anyway. "If you do not then my mind will wander to other solutions. I mean it could be-" I started but his lips on mine cut me off.
The touch of his lips moved over and over mine, sending tingles down my spine. His hands gripped on my face as his lips danced over my own. His touch drove my mind into overdrive. Longing drove in me as I wrapped my hands around his neck bringing him closer. He broke away opening his mouth to speak but I cut him off my hands playing with the ends off his hair.
"Do not say anything," I whispered and I continued due to his confused look. "I know."
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Gwaine chased after me causing me to giggle as I gathered my dress, running down the hallway. He caught me soon enough as running in a dress is nothing but hard and his arms wrapped around me drawing me in close.
"You are truly amazing." He whispered brushing his nose against mine.
"I know." I joked winking at him.
"I do not think you do," He started and he looked directly into my eyes. "I think you are amazing as much as you are beautiful and I think that I could look into your eyes you amazingly stunning eyes and never get bored. I think that I love you."
"I think I love you too."
"By your hand the one you love the most will die, after and only after you both say those three words. I love you."
And suddenly I felt the dagger being pressed into my hand by an invisible force. I gasped pushing myself away from Gwaine mumbling the prophecy over and over again under my breath.
"What are you saying? What is wrong y/n?" The concern in his voice made tears breach my eyes and I froze losing track of my breath. "Speak to me. Tell me what is wrong!"
"I am going to kill you." I whispered tears now falling down.
"What? Why would you say that?"
"Because I love you," I stated. Gwaine stepped forward and I stepped back until my back was pressed up against the stone wall. "Stay away from me."
"But I thought you love me?" He questioned as my tears flooded freely from my eyes.
"I do, I do love you," I stared down at the dagger in my hand realisation coming into mind. "I love you more than anything and that is why I have to do this." I could fell the dagger pulling me towards Gwaine so I took a step forwards and another and another until I was directly in front of him. The dagger was trembling in my hand as I looked up at the love of my life regret filling my features.
"I do not understand." He whispered and I nodded understandingly as the dagger pulsed in my hand.
"I am so sorry."
I whispered as I plunged the dagger into my stomach, knowing in my mind that this was the only way to save Gwaine. Pain pulsed through me as I crumbled forward, Gwaine's cries raging throughout the hall. I looked up at him knowing that he was the last thing I wanted to look at before my world tumbled into darkness, knowing that this was the end for me but not for him.
I had saved him.
