Step 8: Be Musically Inclined

All emos love music. Whether they listen to it 24/7, sing, write lyrics, or play an instrument, they are all involved somehow.

Personally, I like to play bass. I am also learning how to play an acoustic guitar.

Now, I know a lot of you singers will want to sing emo songs that have screamo in it. I recommend watching a tutorial or something of the like. There is more to it than just screaming. If you decide to learn on your own; do not use your throat!

I already have a huge list of bands, so if you need music, go back to chapter 5 (Step 4: Bands). I will, however, recommend my favorites. Black Veil Brides, Sleeping With Sirens, Pierce The Veil, Falling In Reverse, Escape The Fate, All Time Low, Panic! At The Disco, The Starting Line, and, of course, My Chemical Romance.

If you decide to write your own music, don't use other peoples lyrics. I know it is hard to be creative sometimes, but if you dig down deep you can find it. Here's a tip: don't try to rhyme at all at first. Do that last. Just write down what comes to you.
