Chapter 6: Try again

This is about a month after Marinettes mom got cancer. The cemo is treating her well and the doctor said it would be smooth sails with very few bumps. Adrien had not asked her out yet since she seemed she needed her space. Marinette is just now feeling better about her moms situation.

Marinette looked at her phone. Adrien had been calling her at least twice a day every day since the news about her mom. Her phone began to ring and it was from Adrien. She swiped it up and answered it.

"Hello?" Marinette said.

There was some silence. "Oh. Hi Marinette! I didn't expect you to answer." Adrien said shocked, surprised that Marinette actually answered the phone because she hasn't in a month. "How are you?"

"A lot better, thanks. How come you kept calling me?" Marinette wasn't freaked out from talking on the phone. She was only scared of face to face.

"I just wanted to make sure you were okay, to be your shoulder to cry on. I guess Alya did that for me." He slightly chuckled waiting for Marinette to say something.

"Yeah. I'm sorry I didn't answer I just wanted to be by myself. Alya would just show up at my house every once and a while." Marinette said truthfully.

This is my chance. Time to try and ask her out. Again. "Hey. Uh... I was... uhhh... Wondering can... I- well I'd rather ask in person. Do you mind if I meet you at the bakery in 10 minutes?" Adrien asked really shyly. He began to blush.

He wants to come and see me?! No way! "Yeah sure! I'll be here. What do you want to ask me?" Marinette said trying to convince Adrien to tell her. She didn't think it was anything serious.

"You'll see when I get there. See you soon, Marinette!" He hung up the phone.

"EEEEEEPPPPP." Marinette screamed. "Omg! Omg!" She was jumping around the room.

"I wonder he wants." Tikki said smiling. "Maybe he will ask you out!"

Marinette stopped moving. "He wouldn't ask me out. Would he?" Marinette blushed.

"I think he would. He's gonna be here soon you should probably get dressed." Tikki said.

"Oh geez! I forgot I was wearing my pajamas!" Marinette rushed around the room getting dressed. She looked in the mirror and was brushing her hair.

"Marinette! Someone is here for you!" Marinette's dad screamed.

"Okay! Thanks, dad! They can come up!" Marinette screamed back. Oh no! I haven't done my hair! Oh well! I hope he is okay with it down.

Adrien walked upstairs to Marinette's room. "Hey Mar-", he looked at Marinette speechless. her hair down makes her even cuter. "You.... uhh.... your hair.... Its nice down." Adrien said blushing.

"Th-th-thanks, A-Adrien. I-I didn't have e-e-enough time to p-put it u-up." Marinette stuttered. "Do yo-you want to s-s-sit down?" She pat on her bed as she sat down.

"Sure!" He sat. This is the time. Time to ask Marinette out. UGHH I'm so scared. It was silent for to long.

"So y-y-you had a qu-question?"

"Uh... Yeah. I was uhh..... wondering if uhh..."

"Y-yeah?"

You... uhhh wanted to go.... uhh"

Marinette giggled at how nervous he was. Please be asking me out! PLEASEEEE be asking me out!

Okay Adrien get yourself together. You can do  this! Adrien turned as red as a tomato. "Marinette do you want to go on a date with me?"

Omg! O-M-G HE JUST ASKED ME OUT!!! He just asked me out? Wait! Okay Marinette respond to him say yes. Don't stutter you've got this. "Yes! Of course, I'll go on a date with you, Adrien." Marinette tried to act civilized and serious. She didn't stutter at all. She felt accomplished.

"That's .... that's  great! How does tomorrow at 6 sound?" She said yes! Point Adrien!

"Sounds gr-great."

"Okay, Marinette! I guess I'll see you tomorrow night! Bye, Mari!" And with that Adrien left.

Mari? Mari. I like that. Time to get ready for tomorrow!!! Ill make a dress from scratch! Best. Day. Everrrrrr!!!!!
