Calling All Cover Makers

Hello Virtual Friends!

Do you know how much of a nerd I felt like typing that? Very much a nerd, and I think I'm proud of that. Anyway I've had this new idea to help promote cover makers who maybe aren't as well known on here. It struck me the other day when I received a lovely message from a user asking if I wanted to collaborate, unfortunately I don't have the time but I offered to advertise her work on her (see two chapters back) and thought, why can't I make this an actual thing and start doing this for people? When I started way back in 2012 (on an old account that I believe has a name something to do with Elmo) I found it so difficult trying to find people who wanted covers that I would actually just find books that I liked and just made covers for them. When I moved to this account in 2013 I had a solid amount of requests, I could usually do them all, 2014 went a little crazy and I found myself having to turn people down for the first time ever. But 2015 just blew up, I mean really crazy, from just about 50k views in January to hitting 280k in December (which is actually unbelievable), and I hate having to disappoint so many people. So I just thought, if I can post other options for people who need covers and help maybe lesser known cover makers, then why haven't I already done this? By no means do I think that I am anything more than girl with a laptop who can make averagely good looking covers, but this book does get a lot of views, for some unbeknownst reason.

I was originally inspired by WeAreAHurricane, I read all of her books and her graphics were to die for, if you go back to the early comments you'll probably be able to find essay length comments from me, gushing over her. You'll be able to see the type of cover I made when I discovered her in the picture section, apparently they were either fanfics for onedirection, or more yellow toned than a higlighted canary. There are far older covers than this but I have completely erased them from history, these are the earliest (and worst) that I have, I like to think that I have improved at least a little since this point, at least I now know what a colour scheme is. She drove me to be better and to improve, though I will never be anywhere near her level of skill she still pushed me to be better, even though I doubt she knows I exist.

I know how difficult it is trying to start out, I know that may sound a little patronising but it's true. For the first 100 or requests I received I made about 20 covers for the user to choose between just to make sure they were happy. For the first year I probably only got 50 requests (remember there were a lot fewer users back in Wattpad's foetal stages),  so if you guys want a bit of advertising I am more than happy to help. There used to be a lot of people self promoting in the comment section, which I had a bit of a problem with, I think mainly because as a Brit any sign of forwardness must be immediately shunned, so if I have a section for cover makers to advertise then hopefully no more self promotion will occur and I won't get so mildy off put (takes a lot to piss a Surrey girl off). I have no idea how many people would like me to post links to their work so I may be able to do it for everyone, I may not. This is a book mainly to display my work so of course I cannot just fill it with the work of others, but a few examples won't do any harm. Or I could maybe advertise for a month and then change it to another user?

Anyway if you would like me to advertise your work please say so in the comments below and inbox me to let me know, if not for yourself please do it for me, I cannot cope with all these requests, I almost cleared my inbox on Friday and now I'm back up to 114 unread messages. Seriously I need help. Or drugs. Drugs count as help right? Well maybe they'll help me right into a jail cell, but I probably shouldn't stress about the future. 

Who am I kidding, I'm already stressed about what I'm going to have for lunch on the 26th March 2028, what if they run of of spinach in Sainsbury's?

1 Day Later Update: Hey guys, it's so cool to see that there are so many of you! I've got an overwhelming number of inboxes as well as these comments, so bear with me as I try to sort through them all, I think I'm going to start a 'cover maker of the month' kind of thing, and if it does well then maybe create a whole new book thing just to promote you guys. If I choose you, I'll let you know via inbox for now but who knows where this could go in the future! xx
