DATE AND THE KISS

Leo couldn't even begin to describe how happy he was when he was with you.  As a leader he was supposed to be vigilant, strong, willing to give himself if it meant saving his family.  He always seemed collected and serious, that he didn't have any fun.

But it was the exact opposite when it involved you.  He was so loose, he made jokes, Leo let his walls come down; he was different.

The past few days Leo had spent most of his days at home training, and as everyday passed the only thing he could think of was you.  You meant so much to him; how the two of you ended up together, a turtle and a human, he had no idea.  He had never felt so happy before in his life with anybody, even his family.

You made him feel special, and in return he wanted to do the same thing.  

Movie nights were a regular thing now, so it wouldn't make sense to have one as a date.  Leo wanted to do something special, but being a mutant turtle meant the two of your couldn't really go anywhere, so he had to improvise.

Leo contacted April and finally told him of your relationship; she certainly seemed happy about it so she helped him.  She said that she could leave the apartment for the evening for him to set up his little plan.  It was old school but he knew you would like it.

April had texted you saying she had to work late and that she wouldn't be home until at least midnight.  You would have gone to the lair but you needed to rest a little.  A nice nap would be nice right now, you thought as you made your way home.  It was getting dark.

When you made it home you weren't expecting anything or anyone to be home so you never payed much attention once you got inside.  But it was odd; it was very dim in the apartment, April usually leaves a light on for you when she has to leave the house at night for work.  Something was off.

You stood still and listened for anything, then you began to hear movement in the living room.  You walked into the small room, and once you entered it took you back a few steps.

Soft music played from the CD player by the TV, and only a few dim lights were on; the atmosphere was cozy and warm feeling.

"Glad you came."  You heard someone say.  Turning, your beautiful smile showed itself on your face; your (e/c)  eyes saw Leo standing in the hallway entrance.

"You did all of this?"  You ask, giving him a pleased little laugh.  He nodded and smiled as he walked slowly over to you, you noticed something in his hands.  Was that a flower?

"For you," Leo says as he hands you the rose, and your smile only grew bigger.  Your cheeks began to burn as you noticed him staring at you with those blue eyes.  You lifted the slower to your nose to inhale the smell.

"It's beautiful Leo.  Thank you."  

Leo smiled sweetly at you as you begin to go to the radio to listen to the music.  It was slow but i had a good rhythm to it.

But you weren't prepared for when you felt a hand envelope your own, and when you turned around you saw Leo pulling you into the middle of the living room floor, taking the flower from your hand and setting it on a nearby coffee table.  He pulled you in close and twirled you around, watching you laugh as he did so.

"I thought you couldn't dance?"  You asked him with a grin on your face.

"For you, I can try."

"How did you even get in here anyways with no one here?"

It was fair for you to know now that April knew of your relationship with Leo, so he told you.

"I told April about us."  He said, "She left the apartment so we could have the evening together."

"You had this planned out?"

Leo nodded.  "(Y/n)."  

His tone of voice caught your attention, it was obvious something was on his mind, and he was about to tell you.  You watched as he hand raised up to your face and gently caress your cheek.

"I don't even know where to begin."  Leo starts, "it's literally impossible for me to speak right now."

You let out a soft chuckle and lean into his touch.  "Odd; you like to talk."

Leo smiled pulled you closer.  "Which is why I'm having such a hard time right now.  There's so much I want to say, but I can't."

Leo looked into your (e/c) eyes and protested if now was the right time.  After everything the two of you had been through, after all that time of spending with each other, he still couldn't say it.

But with that longing look in your eyes, it gave Leo the courage to finally speak, but in shorter words, shorter than what he originally wanted to say.  He swallowed the lump in his throat.

He finally said it.

"I love you (y/n)."

You were as speechless as he was, cheeks burning and eyes sparkling.  Your heart fluttered like crazy, all you could do was stare into his blue eyes as a smile slowly formed on your face.  Laughing to yourself in your head, you placed your hand on Leo's cheek and smiled at him.

"I love you too, Leo."

You took you a moment to realize that he had gotten closer to you, and soon you had found yourself falling into his kiss.

His lips didn't fully meet yours, they only lightly grazed the corner of them, he was still unsure about his advancements but it was enough to get the message.

With his hands rested on your shoulders, Leo pulled away to look you in the eyes, only to see you smiling.  He finally did it.

Leo pulled you into a hug, and the music continued to go ever so slowly. The two of you danced on.
