Harry and Hermione had asked you to walk with them. Your apology to Harry had mended things, mostly, and you certainly felt a lot more comfortable around them.

You were walking across the castle grounds and the sky was starting to turn grey. It was getting closer to night.

You had opted to stay at Hogwarts for Christmas, since you weren't keen on listening to Malfoy's persistent whining and teasing over the break.

"(Y/n)." said Harry, looking. "Do you know where we're going? I mean, do you want to know?"

You knew that he wouldn't have asked the question if something bad wasn't going to happen. You weren't sure if you wanted to know where you were going and why.

"Yeah." you replied abruptly, your curiosity taking over. Harry gulped slightly and Ron and Hermione lowered their heads to hide their distraught faces.

"We're going to Hagrid's because... because... Buckbeak is going to be executed."

You took in a breath. The bird was beautiful, who in their right mind would kill a creature of such beauty?

"No... why?" you stammered, clutching at your throat.

"It's Malfoy that horrible... err... sorry..."

You interrupted him. "Don't worry, say what you like. He's a damn idiot and I really don't care about him."

You did care a little. But you weren't going to admit it.

"Well, Mr Malfoy has talked to the people at the ministry and they have released an official execution for Buckbeak."

You gasped so loudly that it could have been heard a mile away. Mr Malfoy that little... scum... meddlesome, toe rag! You hated him! You hated Malfoys! They had done this!

A pang of cold swept through you and you shivered. Your friends just stared ahead, looking at the scene before them.

Malfoy and his cronies stood, eagerly watching something that was going on below at Hagrid's battered hut.

Hermione sneered, red fire blazing in her brown eyes. She looked as though she might just kill them. All of them. You hoped she didn't: that would be one to explain to the professors.

She rushed down the small hill that separated you from the Slytherin gang and you chased her automatically. You knew something very bad was going to happen, you could just feel it in your bones.

Malfoy looked up from whatever he was doing to taunt her, a cold smile twisted across his face.

He looked good, and you hated him for it.

"Ooo! Look! The golden four have come!" he taunted, twirling his wand around in his slender fingers.

Hermione was getting closer to the group, her face beet red with rage. Nothing could have ever prepared you for what had happened next.

Hermione pulled her wand out of her back pocket and pointed it forcefully at Malfoy's neck. He whimpered and pulled back, and you noted the spark of fear in his eyes. Hermione smiled a little but her face, knowing she had the upper hand, but it immediately contorted into a frown.

"You foul, loathsome, evil little cockroach!" she screamed and jabbed her wand further into Malfoy's neck. She was finally talking back him and you loved every second of it - every second of Hermione's win.

"Hermione NO!" shouted Ron. "He's not worth it."

It was true. He wasn't. But he was finally getting was he had deserved. But, to your dismay, she lowered her wand. You opened your mouth to protest and Malfoy and Crabbe and Goyle laughed.

Hermione turned pack and threw a punch which hit Malfoy square in the face. He fell back and his cronies helped him up. They were away in a flash, quicker than humanly possible.

And, you would never forget the day which Hermione Granger had punched Draco Malfoy.

"Wow that was... that was impressive!" you said, smiling at Hermione.

She tucked her wand back into her pocked and breathed a heavy sigh.

"That felt good!" she said, tucking her hair behind her ears.

"It sure looked good!" you replied, laughing a little. "That was a long time coming, and he definitely deserved that."

"We should go." said Harry abruptly, watching the last boy whip around the side of the building, his brown hair ruffled by the wind.  You just wished that Malfoy would leave the lot of you alone and stop being such a fool. But he wouldn't and never would. Malfoy would always be Malfoy and Malfoy was always evil.

You looked at Harry and nodded, heading down the hill to Hagrid's hut.
