Chapter 29- Endgame (Pt.1)

Kensi's POV

I stared in horror at the face of my tormentor. This doesn't make any sense. There is no way King could be the target of my operation and be the person trying to kill Deeks and me.

"You look confused, Kensi. Well allow me to shed some light on it so you understand: As you know, Donald Blye, your father, was part of a Black Ops unit in Hawaii. What you don't know, is that he assassinated my father, and my two brothers when I was 17.  They were the only family I had after my mother passed, and your father just decided to murder them like they were trash!" He screamed, rage spitting through his vemonous voice.

"Then why go after me and my partner?"

"Let me finish, you bitch." He kicked me in the stomach roughly, causing me to fall backwards on my hands. I wheezed, trying to catch my breath back.

"Anyways, I never forgave the man, so I tracked him down, only to find that he died two years ago in a car crash. That wasn't enough for me, I needed validation that the deaths of my father and brothers were avenged, so  I did some digging and discovered that the notorious Donald Blye had a sweet little daughter who became a federal agent. Believe me, Kensi, I really don't enjoy hurting women, but then I consider all the lives your father ruined, and I get over it."

He slammed his boot into my stomach a second time.

"W-why do you w-want Deeks then?" I gasped.

"That's an excellent question, Ms. Blye! To put it simply, I want to destroy everyone you love and care about, and that includes Martin Deeks. If you see him in pain, that will cause you even worse pain, will it not?"

I'm the reason Deeks is being targeted. It hit me with the force of a freight train. The only reason he has to live in fear of getting kidnapped, or tortured, or killed is because I couldn't help myself and stay away. He doesn't deserve that kind of life.

"Hello? Are you still in there?!" He yelled at me, kicking me repeatedly in the abdomen with every word. I groaned in pain as the toe of his shoe dug into me. He suddenly stopped and took a seat in his chair again. I gasped, taking in as much air as I could.

"I-in the let-letter you said that we couldn't forget you. So that me-means we've met before?" I said between deep breaths.

"So you did forget me!" King smirked. "Don't you remember when you got shot in the park? You didn't think that fool Peter Claremont did that, did you?"

"He confessed though!" I blurted out.

"He just wishes he could have done it." King chuckled.

"You're lying. Y-You have to be. And how did you infiltrate a drug trafficing ring just to get to me?" I asked, still completely puzzled on how this could have happened.

"My mouth is getting a little dry. I think I'm going to take a break and let you think about what I have just told you. When I return, you will have a decision to make. Goodbye for now." He folded up his chair and walked out of the room without another word.

Deeks' POV

"We have to go get her, she's in trouble!" I yelled to my teammates desperatly.

"Deeks, it isn't that simple. This could be a trap, we need to get clearance to go into Nicaragua, and we don't know if the mission is really compromised." Callen said, rubbing his eyes.

"But if she's really in trouble then-"

"Then we will go find her, but for now we need to get the facts about what happened in the Ukraine." Hetty appeared from the hallway. "Eric, show me any reports of mass shootings in the last four months. Focus on the Ukraine and surrounding countries."
