Roy's POV.
I didn't know the guy's name so I couldn't give the medicine to him. He just disappeared out of my sight.
Where will I find him now? Why am I getting worried for him, anyway? I have decisions to make. Time is running out.
I took the pink pills and started walking towards the ICU. I have to make the life and death decision. I don't know what is right or what is wrong at this moment. I don't know what decision should I take that will benefit dad. I can't let him die but this operation will take away his voice, worse; he might not even survive it.
"Dad, things will be good now. You survived it. We will live happily now. You and me. We both will fight this." I heard a voice from a duel cabin as i was walking down the corridor. The voice sounded familiar.
It's that guy.
I looked at the pink pills and decided to go in and give it to the boy.
"I'm very proud and lucky to have you, son." A weak and fragile voice spoke. "What will you do about your studies, Neel? We...." before I eavesdropped in their personal conversation I knocked on the door.
"Come in." The boy named 'Neel' called me in.
"Hey, you dropped these pills on the way." I handed him the pink pills.
"Thank you, sir." The boy said, smiling.
"Call me Roy." I held my hand out for him to shake.
We shook hands and he introduced himself as Neel.
"Thank you, Roy."
I walked out and a nurse stopped me.
"Mr. Singhania, your family and doctors are waiting for you. You need to get back to your father." The nurse informed. For a moment, all the issues at hand disappeared but now they all came back again.
The nurse went away and I stood there frozen. Neel tapped on my shoulder.
He stood there with a worried face. "Are you alright?" He asked.
"No." I shook my head frantically. What should I do now? What should I DO? "My father is going to die." I whispered to myself.
"What's wrong with your father? If you don't mind telling." The boy asked. I looked at him and said everything that was going on.
Sometimes, it is good to talk to strangers. Probably, you'll never see them again in future so letting out all your thoughts for once in front of them can't be that harmful, right?
Neel listened to everything carefully and then he nodded. He gave me an understanding look and not the sympathetic one. Sympathy is a bitch that hurts you ten times worse.
"I've also gone through this some days back. I was also confused like you." He looked at me but didn't give me the sorry look that everyone gives which I was glad of. He has faced the same situation as mine. This guy knows better how to handle it because he faced the situation.
I'm glad that I came across him.
"I don't know what I must do." I mumbled, jumbled up with my thoughts. A tear escaped, I wiped it before anyone could see it.
"You should take the risk of operation." I looked at him and tried to process his words in my mind. They were the exact words that Ashu said. "Will you let your father die, when you know there is still another option? There is still a chance to save him. So why not use the chance wisely?" The young boy Neel advised me, wisely.
