Chapter 14

He held me for some time. I just held onto him. This feeling welled up in my chest. I couldnt explain it. I just didnt want to see him miserable. It hurt to see him this way.
We stayed like that for a while till he released me. He seemed like he was doing better now. I wondered if it was safe to ask this.
"Hey hero why do you hate Steve so much." I asked after having put on another shirt.
"It happened a long time ago."
Was he actually going to tell me. I thought.
"Back when me and Steve were younger."
*Flash back*
Herobrine pov
"Brother look what I found." I yelled then remembered Steve didnt come with me this time. I had found a diamond. If we sold this in one of the villages we would have enough to eat for a year or two.
Me and Steve were orphans. well I guess I shouldn't really say that. Are parents are probably still alive somewhere. We lived like orphans though. Mother and father abandoned us here at this village when we were 5. It had been 5 years since then and someyimes it was hard but as long as I had my brother it wasnt so bad. And this diamond would help.
I carried it to my chest. Proud of my find as I ran to where our little camp was set up. I ran quickly. I was happy and excited so excited that I forgot to pay attention to my surroundings. I ran into a person. Dropping the diamond in the process.
I looked up and saw a strange man I had never seen before in the village. He looked like a traveler. He bent down and picked up the diamond.
"Thats mine." I said.
"It rare to see one this big." He murmured to himself. "It will make a fine addition to my collection."
He started to walk away
"Hey thats mine!" I said pulling on his pant leg.
He seemed to notice me then. He looked down at me then. "What would you need with a diamond kid. Go run on home."
"You cant take it!"
He kicked me off his pant leg. I was so desperately clutching onto. I fell backwards and scraped my knees up a little bit.
"I need it." I said as he got further and further away. I
If only I were stronger. Then I would still have it. I headed back to our camp empty handed. I got there.
"Herobrine look what I got." He said holding up two loaves of bread. My stomach growled.
"Where did you get that." I said taking a loaf.
"You know the baker in town. She had two extra loaves at the end of the day. She was just going to throw them away but when I asked she gave them to me instead."
"I kind of feel bad. Im the older sibling I should be providing for us."
"Your only a half an hour older than me."
"Yeah but still."
"Hey Herobrine. How did you get those scrapes on your knees."
I was then reminded of the diamond that was taken away from me earlier.
"I found a diamond."
"Thats great."
"But some strange guy stole it from me."
"Oh okay." He seemed a bit dissapointed. But then snapped his head up as if he just thought of something. "But your okay right." He asked.
I nodded my head yes.
"Then thats all that matters." He said putting his hand on my shoulder.
"Yeah but if I were stronger. We would still have that diamond. And we couldve sold it and had enough money to get food for the rest of the year."
"Well there's not much we can do about it now. So just get some rest okay." I nodded then went close enough to the fire to feel its warmth but not close enough enough for it to burn me and slept.
*time skip*
I woke when the first rays of morning light hit.
I was going to hunt for food with brother. But when I woke up I saw he already left. I was slighlty dissapointed. I wanted to go with him. Well nonetheless I decided to go on my own. I would bring back some food to make up for losing that diamond.
I grabbed my wooden sword. And headed into the forest. I had been searching for a while without much luck. Till I saw a fat looking cow. I was slowly creepy towards it. Till I thought I heard something. I looked over, but a little to late.
Boom. A creeper had exploded and I was sent flying into a tree. I looked up and saw my cow running off. Spooked by the loud noise. I went to stand but realized I had twisted my ankle pretty badly. It hurt to put pressure on it.
I leaned agaisnt the tree. "If only I was stronger."
"Do you really wish to be stronger young one."
I looked up startled by the unexpected noise. I saw a witch there.
"Why are not attacking me."
"I found you fascinating thats all. But do you really wish to be stronger."
"Yes I do." I said.
"Then drink this child." She said pulling a potion bottle out of her sleeve. The potion inside was white. I had never seen a potion like this before.
"This is the only potion of its kind. Drink this and you will become stronger than in your wildest dreams. All though be warned thier are a couple side effects."
I took the bottle in my hands. With this I could become stronger. I would be able to protect myself and my brother better. I drank the potion.
It burned a little going down. My body grew warmer. To warm, the burning sensation that was felt as I drank it spread throughout my limbs. It was painful and I become to wonder if I had been poisoned and was a fool to trust that witch. But after a few minutes it went away. And I was left feeling not that different.
"I dont feel any different." Crossing my arms.
"Maybe it doesnt work on humans then. Well no matter."
"You mean I went through all that pain for nothing." I yelled. I saw lighting almost strike the witch."
"Amazing."
"Wait d-did I do that."
"Yes."
This was really cool I could summon lighting.
"To bad dear you wont get to enjoy your new found power."
"Why wouldn't I."
"the reasons not important. She said. 'I cant have him know that I was going to kill him if the potion was successful and then take the powers for myself.'"
I felt my myself start to shake in rage. She was just going to use me. I looked down and saw my arms were now covered in fire. It was weird they didnt feel like they were being burned.
The witch looked almost impressed. "To bad I have to kill you now hun. You did seem like such a nice boy to."
Not happening I thought. The fire from my arms manifested into a fireball. That shot right at the witch. . It hit her in the chest killing her. I was surprised I didnt mean to kill her I was just going to severely injure her.
Oh well, no use in dwelling on it now. I thought I should head home. I started to walk but then next thing I knew I was there. I stumbled a bit not quite used to my new found powers. Who new I could teleport to.
Steve wasnt back yet.
I was kind of disappointed. I had hoped to show my brother what I could do now.
I decided to walk into the village to see if I could get any food.
I walked through town when weird things began to happen.
"Weird kid."
"Is there something wrong with that child."
"Do you think he sick."
"Mommy why thats boy's eyes white."
"Shush he will hear you."
The people spoke in hushed whispers but I still heard them all. I turned to look at them.
"What" I said. I didnt like the way they were treating me.then crack lighting hit one of the buildings near them.
"Monster you did that didnt you." One of the men yelled.
"I swear it was accident. "
"You could of killed one of us." Another one yelled.
"Im sorry." I yelled. Then ran. I ran then somehow teleported to our camp. I looked up and saw Steve.
He turned around "Woah Herobrine when did you get here." He looked like he was focusing hard on something. "and why are your eyes white."
"I found a way to become stronger. But now I think half the villagers hate me."
"Wait wait how."
I explained all this to him.
"So you can do all this stuff now."
"Yeah"I said showing him some of my new found powers.
"Thats great Herobrine." He didnt look like he thought it was great. He looked scared, just like those villagers.
'I hope his powers dont act up again.' He thought.
"Oh they shouldn't Im slowly getting better at controlling them."
"How did you know that."
'Thats freaky its like he knew what I was thinking.'
"I did I have that power now to."
"Thats kind of weird. Im not gonna lie."
"Whats so wierd about it."
"Its like I noe have no privacy of mind and if ones of your powers acts up again."
He was starting to act like the villagers.
"Im sorry. But I dont think I can handle this, its all to much."
He said then left.
"Brother wait." I said getting up chasing him.
"Dont call me that anymore."
I felt a tear drip down my cheek it was like my parents abandoning me all over again.
*flash back end.*
I looked at Herobrine I hadn't realize it intill he wiped away a tear that I had been crying a little. He continued finishing his story.
"I tried to go back to the villagers but they were to scared of me. Treated me like a monster even though I had done nothing to deserve that tittle. It was the same no matter where I went. People treating me like a freak just because I could do things they didnt understand. Eventually I decided to become that monster that everyone treated like."
I wrapped my arms around him and held onto him, my head on his chest. This surprised Hero a bit and he almost feel off balance.
"I would never treat you like that."
"I know." He said and laughed a bit.
"You wouldn't believe how surprised I was when I first found you. I thought you ran away from me when I first brought you here but you seemed more fascinated by me then scared."
"Thats because your not scary. I dont think you could be if you tried." I said teasing him a bit trying to ligthen the mood.
He laughed a bit at that. "Challenge accepted."
