Alright, so this is probably NOT going to get me a lot of fans right now, but I don't really care. I kinda wanna rant here and that's what this book is for. Random Percy Jackson stuff. Including rants. So go ahead and hate on me all you want for what I'm about to say. I'll just ignore you.
I do not like Annabeth and I do not ship Percabeth.
Wait, wait. I actually have reasoning here! Hear me out before you start cussing and swearing and calling me a stupid fan or something. Just hear me out!Why don't I like Annabeth? Well, I'll be honest here. I actually kind of liked her in the first series. She wasn't my favorite character, not by far. (Until Titan's Curse when Nico was introduced, my favorite had been Grover. Then Nico was introduced and I ended up falling in love with the son of Hades). But I admired her and found her to be an overall good character. I liked her more than I liked certain other characters (*cough cough* Chiron *cough cough*). Then why don't I like her? Well, that actually started in the second series. I think it was Mark of Athena that made me not like her. I wasn't overly happy when I found out she got her own chapters, and to be fair, I found them the most boring of the seven different perspectives we got to live through (nine when we get to BoO and Reyna and Nico got their own!). Even when she went off on her own little quest, I just thought it was...boring. The whole thing was just so tiresome to read. And she seemed bossier than the first series, and a little more mean to Percy. I don't remember her being so mean to him in the first series. Maybe it's just me though?
Now, for why I don't like Percabeth. To me, they're just not a good match. I didn't see them throughout the first series as much more than just friends. There was only one time when I was convinced that Annabeth actually liked Percy as more than just a friend, and that was during the Percabeth-Perachel love triangle thing that was going on. That was honestly the only time I was convinced, even during the Titan's Curse I didn't think of it as anything other than Percy going on a quest to save one of his best friends. I feel as though Uncle Rick put these two together for one of two reasons. 1) He wanted did it just so it could be a love story. 2) He saw that everyone shipped these two together and decided, why not? I'll be nice and just appease the fans!
And before you go accusing me of not shipping these guys because of the whole Percico thing, THAT IS NOT WHY I DONT SHIP THEM. Sure, Percico is cute together. Alright, Nico had a crush on Percy and I called it since Titan's Curse, and I do ship them, but that's not why I don't ship Percabeth. I totally just explained it. So yeah. Don't go telling me that. Anyways, I don't ship Percico anywhere near as much as I ship what happens to be my OTP: SOLANGELO!
Alright. Let the hate commence. I don't care. These are my thoughts though, so if you want to go hate on me for my opinion, go right ahead. I don't care.
