Over My Dead Body

Chapter 7

-Alaina-

I woke up to a quiet 'thump thump'. I opened my eyes to find two massive arms wrapped around me and my ear up against a massive chest. The 'thumps' were Aspen's heartbeat, I gagged silently at him thinking he can snuggle up with me. I shoved the arms off and got out of the bed heading to the washroom.

"Where are you going dear?" I heard before I went in.

"Anywhere to get away from you." I snapped. I heard something rustle behind me and someone advance. I ran in and closed the door behind me but the moment I stepped away it slammed open and Aspen rushed in. He grabbed my shoulders and slammed me against the wall once more but wasn't so gentle this time. A pain went up my back and I wasn't so in good masking it.

"YOUR NOT LEAVING ME!!!" He screamed. My wolf hated being yelled at and I slapped him again. He let out a deep growl but I pushed him away from me and walked out. He growled but that turned into a sigh.

"Are you ok?" He asked.

"No I'm not!" I snapped.

"What's wrong?" I glared at him and snarled.

"Isn't it obvious," I yelled, "I have you as a fucking mate!" I sat on the bed and put my face in my hands and began to cry. He sighed and walked over to the bed and sat right next to me as I sobbed.

"Is there anything I can do to help you?" He asked.

"Yeah," I sniffed, "let me reject you!" He growled once more but then took a deep breath calming himself.

"I'm not letting you reject me." he hissed. I continued to cry into my hands, but I stopped when I felt an arm go around my shoulder. Aspen was trying to comfort me but I didn't need his comfort, I smacked his hand off.

"Fine, don't let me reject you! Could I at least see my family then?" I asked. He sighed and thought about my request.

"Very well, we'll leave after breakfast." I felt my eyes brighten and a smile sneak on my face.

"But," he said, "You should tell me your name." My smile receded to frown, I wanted to say no but then I might never see my family again.

"My name is Alaina Nightwish." I said quickly. Aspen smiled at me but I didn't return it.

"Well then Alaina how about we eat breakfast and then visit your family?" I nodded and then he left the room for a moment. When he came back he was holding a floor length black dress that fell off the shoulders. He handed it to me and I went into the washroom to change.

Aspen and I walked into dining room and I was immediately greeted by an older man. He crushed me in a hug but Aspen shoved him off me.

"Greetings! I am Aspen's father or more commonly known as King Alpha Cline." I raised an eyebrow at him and Aspen growled again and pushed me behind him. The King still smiled and walked over to the dining table and sat down. Aspen and I followed and sat down too, he was next to his father and I was next to him. Servants brought out eggs, sausage, bread, and milk.

I felt very hungry and grabbed one of everything and began to eat. We ate in silence until the King Alpha spoke.

"So," he said, "what is your name dear?" I saw Aspen flinch when his father called me 'dear'.

"I'm Alaina Nightwish." I said. I refused to talk after that and we finished breakfast. Aspen stood up and looked to King Alpha.

"Father, Alaina and I are going to visit her family." he stated. I stood up with him and followed him out the doors. We walked down the long corridor and walked out a door to see a carriage waiting. We approached it and I gasped at the drivers, they were the men that dragged me out of my house, family, and life. They nodded at me but I gave them a snarl, my wolf wanted to tear them apart.
