Chapter 1

~Damion~

I knew it the moment he entered the bar. Not because of the many heads that turned his way when he came in and not because of the whisper of his name on the lips of the big guy sitting next to me. It was just that he carried with him a certain aura-a presence that a person just couldn't ignore and it was clear from the audience he was getting that others felt it too.

The boy was perfection; simply put. He came to a stop in the center of the room, looking around the place as though he were in search of someone. I watched him shift to glance past the bodies blocking his view and smiled when he stood on his tiptoes, attempting to look over the heads of some of the patrons as he scanned the crowd.

The boy was everything a Sub could hope to be and every Dom's wet dream. It was no wonder he turned heads; but I thought it was the fact that he was completely oblivious to the effect he had on people that made him so completely irresistible.

While he stood there I took the time to appreciate the view. His gorgeous black curls framed his small face, but not so much so as to hide his big blue eyes-eyes that had looked at me with so much trust and hope and awe just the night before. Eyes that had sent a wave of tenderness washing over me as they'd watched my every move with interest and longing. Eyes that were no doubt searching for me in the crowd.

My gaze traveled lower, to his slender frame. He was small. If he were a woman they'd call him petite. I grinned; small and slender, with skin smooth like alabaster, only marred by the faint scars across his back that he had tried desperately to hide from me the night before. I remembered how his face had turned red when I'd spotted them and how he'd closed his eyes tight and bit his lip when I'd trailed my hands over each of them in turn.

They were the consequence of whips and blows delivered without training-without finesse from a Dom who should have known better. I was certain that I'd made him forget them; if only for just that night.

I swirled the golden liquid around in my glass before taking a sip, my eyes never leaving him as I did so. He bit his lip and I bit back a groan. I could still hear his whimpers, his moans and when I'd told him to be quiet-his every in-drawn breath and low panting. I'd wrung everything from him last night and he'd let me.

Pancakes; that was his safe word; because he loved them he'd told me shyly when I'd asked. I smiled at the memory. There was just something about him; about the way he spoke and carried himself that would make anyone want to reach out and take control. Reach out and protect.

He was submissive through and through; Not just during sex. It was in his nature and it called to me like nothing else had before.

When I'd first spotted him last night I'd felt everything I was feeling now; I knew that I wanted him, but I'd also known it would be a mistake. Guys like him needed much more than a roll in the sack. Guys like him were screaming for love and care and I couldn't give that. I didn't have it in me and I wasn't asking for it. Last night as I'd battled with my mind and my urges I'd told myself I wouldn't take him. I'd find someone else who wanted what I wanted; No strings, no need; just sex and my very special need to dominate.

It was just too bad that no one else could cut it. No one here stood out like he did-lowering his eyes unconsciously when he was approached by a patron and fidgeting with his fingers when someone spoke to him, because he was so shy.

No one could match up last night and knowing what I knew about him now and knowing how it had felt to have him in my arms throughout the night; no one else mattered.

I wanted him again; on his knees, then in my bed and when his eyes finally found mine through the crowd and his face flushed with recognition, I knew he wanted the same.
