It's early in the morning and Dylan never came home last night. You suspected this has been a recurring thing, but you didn't pick up on it until you rolled over and saw him sleeping in his normal clothes and coat one day. You tried to remove his coat for him so he could be more comfortable but stopped when you saw a hockey on his neck. Instead of mentioning anything right away, you waited to see how long it would take for him to confess to his sneaking around. When he never mentioned anything at all, you decided to take matters into your own hands.

You're sitting in the living room trying to stay awake by watching television and eating chips when you hear keys rattle and the door open. You immediately turn the tv off and slowly walk to catch him in the act of sneaking in.

"What the hell, Dylan?"

He looks surprised to see you, but something in his eyes says he doesn't even care. "Sorry, I was... I was at the store. I didn't mean to wake you."

You place your arms at your sides and raise your eyebrows when you say, "This early in the morning?"

"Yeah, sure. What's that on your arm?" He asks while taking his hands from out of his pockets to reach for yours and examine the scars all over your arms. You started cutting yourself after you realized he was cheating on you. You hid it well, but even if you haven't, he was never around to notice anyway.

In an act of defense, you push away from his grip and reply, "What's that on your neck?"

He reaches for his neck and winces once he touches his most recent love bruise. "Shit, I thought I covered it up. Well it's none of your business anyway."

You raise your voice and reply, "Are we not in a relationship? How is you hooking up with other people not my business?"

Dylan walks past you and sprawls himself on the couch like nothing is happening. He reaches for the chips you were eating seconds before he walked in and says with a full mouth, "It just isn't, ok! Look Y/N, I didn't mean for it to happen but it did and now it's too late to change anything."

"If you didn't mean for it to happen then it would have been a one time thing! You've been cheating on me for a while now! You made me do this!" You extend your arms once more to show all the cut marks. Your eyes become watery but you push back the tears.

He laughs and turns away while saying, "You did that to yourself."

Never have you ever heard him be this insensitive, it's like he's a whole new person. A person you want nothing to do with. "I can't do this, I can't be with someone as cruel as you. I don't know how you live with doing what you did knowing you were hurting someone you love."

He stands up and walks toward you until he's directly in your face. You look into his eyes once more, but see no trace of the Dylan you fell in love with. "That's simple, I don't love you. What we had just faded away. You can't expect me to stay loyal when I don't even have any feeling to stay loyal to in the first place now can you, honey?"

He reaches to touch your face but you shove him off and move past him in disgust. You hurry to your room where you pack your bags and leave the guy you once thought you knew.
