Treacherous Waters (Luke Bryan Fanfic)

The Next Day

Em's POV:

I woke up on Luke's chest in the same position that I fell asleep. How is it that when I was little that I never woke up in the same position, but as soon as you put me into a guy's arms I don't move a muscle?

I stared up at the ceiling until I felt Luke move onto his side. I looked up at his face. His eyes were closed and his hair was flat against his forehead. I moved up and down as his chest rose and fell. He was so cute. I continued looking around his room until he woke up. He ran his fingers through my hair.

"Morning." I smiled.

"Good morning sunshine." He kissed me softly. I smiled and sat up.

"Emilee, your mama wants you to come home as soon as you're up and dressed." Luke's mama stood by the door.

"Oh okay. Is something wrong?" I asked her.

"I don't know. She called. She sounded a lil nervous, but who knows. Just head on over there when you're up." LeClaire winked. I leaned back against Luke.

"What do you think it is?" I asked him.

"Only one way to find out." He kissed the top of my head and pulled me out of bed. "Put on some new clothes and get going!" He shouted and dug through my bag. I groaned and lid back down on the bed.

"Can we just wait awhile? I'm so tired for some reason." I whined. He rolled his eyes and sat down on the bed. I laid back and played with his fingers until I felt something in my underwear. "Crap." I got up and dug through my bag to look for a tampon.

I ran into his bathroom and sat on the toilet. I put the tampon in and washed my hands. This sucks. No wonder I feel like crap. I've been late on my period and now I have the worst cramps.

"You okay?" Luke asked as I emerged from the bathroom. I nodded and laid across his lap.

"We should probably get going." I sighed.

"Okay." He smiled and lifted me up. I packed up my bag and Luke and I walked to my house. There was a truck in the driveway that I didn't recognize. "Looks like you have company."

"Yeah. I guess so." I gave him a tight-lipped smile.

"Don't be snarky." Luke poked at my sides. I rolled my eyes and tried to keep from laughing as we walked in the door.

I entered the kitchen with Luke behind me. My mom and dad were sitting around the island looking up at me with a hopeful look in their eyes. A tall man sat on the barstool with tears in his eyes.

"Um. Hi?" I said to all of them.

"Baby girl." My momma started. "This is um. This is Parker. He's your...your brother." Momma stuttered and started tearing up. I dropped my bag on the ground and backed up into Luke. He enveloped me in his arms. Brother? I had always heard stories of my brother. Momma said that he got some girl pregnant in high school and was too scared to come home after that. I don't know all the details, but I had always dreamed of this moment.

"Hi Emilee." Parker whispered with a small smile. I started to cry and I turned around into Luke's chest. He rubbed small circles on my back.

"Em. You gotta take this chance. Don't push him away." Luke whispered in my ear. I did as he said and turned back around.

"I know this is hard for you, but I'm so sorry that I left and I really want to be a part of your life now." Parker proposed his intention of his visit.

I nodded and went to hug him. His arms wrapped around me tightly.

"We're so glad that you guys finally have the chance to have the relationship you need, but we need to figure out how to expose this to Maddie." Daddy broke the silence. I pulled away from Parker and met Luke's embrace.

"Wait. Y'all had another one? Really?" Parker asked, excitedly.

"Mmhmm." Momma nodded, nervously.

"You okay?" Luke asked, pulling me away from the kitchen and their conversation about Maddie.

"I uh. I don't know." I looked down at my feet. "Do you think I should be okay?"

"I'm not sure." Luke sighed and put his hands on my shoulders. I leaned against him.

"Ahem." I heard Parker clear his throat. "I don't mean to interrupt here, but Emilee? We have a lunch reservation at 12:30."

"Um. Okay." I said. He walked away and back into the kitchen.

"Can we go back to your place? I don't wanna be here right now?" I asked Luke. He nodded and we left my house.

"Well what was the big big important news?" Ms. LeClaire shrieked from the kitchen.

"Uh mama. Not right now." Luke told her. I went to their pantry and grabbed a top ramen box. I filled it with water and put it in the microwave. I ate it slowly at the table while Luke and LeClaire talked.

I did not know what to think of this. Part of me was excited. I had an older brother. I could have all those sibling moments like Ross and Monica in F.R.I.E.N.D.S. But the other part of me wants to just kick him out of my life. He wasn't there for the first 21 years, why should he be coming in now?

But why shouldn't he come now? Um because he left you and your family for the first 21 years of your life. My conscious snapped at me. I threw away my ramen box and curled up on the couch and stared out the window that overlooked the Bryan farm.

Tommy caught me lookin out the window and smiled. I waved and returned the smile. He turned back around and went back to work.

"Hey." Luke said softly as he put his hand on my shoulder.

"Hi." I mumbled. He rubbed my shoulder lightly with his palm.

"You have to get ready for lunch with Parker." Luke reminded me. I looked at the time and stood up.

"Ughhhh. Luke." I hugged him tightly. "I don't know what to do."

"It'll be okay baby. Just give him a chance. It'll go okay." Luke kissed the top of my head and walked with me outside. "I'll drive you to your house. I have to go out anyways."

"Okay thanks." I smiled slightly. He helped me in the truck and drove me home. The drive was short considering we lived next to each other, but my house backed up to the Bryan Farm. Luke pulled up in my driveway and put his truck in park. I unbuckled and went to open my door.

"Uh. No kiss?" Luke smiled. I turned back around and kissed his cheek to tease him and then kissed his lips.

"There." I said with attitude.

"Hey, be nice." Luke said.

"Me? Mean? Never!" I glared at him. He laughed. I got out of the truck and went up to my front door. I watched Luke leave before going inside. Now or never....
