I dropped by Wattpad today to see if my account was still working. I seem to have lost all notifications and inbox message history, but everything else seems to be intact (did you hear me sigh in relief?). 
          
          Where have I been the last 18 months? Briefly, I had a health crisis which I followed up with weeks of internet research on my part. Luckily doctors listened to my concerns and did the testing I wanted.  The result was a major surgery and a frustrating recovery.  I'm still not back to where I was, but I can take care of myself and bumble around my gardens. I'm counting my blessings.  
          
          Will I write and post again?... probably... but in the meantime I will try to get back here when I have a positive mindset and do more reading and commenting. 
          
          I hope everyone is well.  I am glad to see you are writing and posting your work.

Hello, friend! I don't know if you remember me, but I am back 'in town' briefly.
          Going through all  my old follows and followers, I despaired to see that almost all of these friends have left WattPad for good. So it was like a flood of sunshine in my heart when I came to your page and found that you're still here. :)
          How have you been these past two years? I hope you're having a wonderful year in 2024! :D

Hi folks,
          A quick note to let you know I'm still kicking and trying to balance life's challenges.  My health is still rocky and I'm frustrated.... sigh.  I'm spending a lot of time puttering in my gardens and sitting on my porch trying to defuse, reflect and deal with life.  Did I every tell you I hate surprises?  I'm okay with change.  I hate surprises, even 'good' surprises.  So, I'm working on adjusting to a new life that is now full  of health surprises.  
          
          My instincts tell me I'll get back to reading and writing on Wattpad some time in the future, but the timeline eludes me.
          
          As I write this, I'm realizing I have missed being here.  I miss reading your work, reading your comments and thoughts.  I hope each of you are doing well and taking care of yourself.  Life is short, so keep on writing and reaching out to your Wattpad friends.

Hi folks,
          First, I have no excuse for my unannounced hiatus.  It was not planned, but just evolved and I feel a bit guilty about not making more of an effort to stay in touch.  I hope you can forgive me for any distress I have caused.  I have not forgotten about my WattPad friends and I have missed each of you.
          
          A brief recap of what has consumed my attention follows:
          
          Over the summer I was consumed with gardening, overseeing the repairs of numerous retaining walls, and planting new garden beds. 
          
          Late in the summer a family member landed in the hospital with a life-threatening illness. He is out and coping with a life style changes.
          
          At the end of September, I ended up in the emergency room with a mysterious painful condition that resolved itself.
          
          After the Christmas I was in the hospital for several days with a life-threatening condition.  I got home in time for the New Years.  Several days later I was involved in a minor car accident (no injuries).  The accident caused enough stress to re-fire my life-threatening condition and necessitated a second hospital stay to get things under control.
          
          I've been home for about a month now, and while my health is a bit tenuous, I'm getting through each day. I'll be busy with doctor visits and medical testing while the doctors and I try and unravel my medical challenges.
          
          I have not given up on writing.  It’s just taken a back seat as I try to re-balance other priorities that needed attention.
          
          I hope life is treating each of you with kindness and each of you are well.
