hey, i thought i should make an announcement, children of chaos is on ao3 now! https://archiveofourown.org/works/56402593
          it's not fully updated yet because i'm rewriting earlier chapters to be a bit less wattpad-y (all my love to the wattpad part of fandoms, but there are things that slide here which don't on ao3), and also the tags are messed up and i haven't fixed them yet, but. well, wattpad is kind of dying, or at least the part of wattpad i frequent, and i just thought it was time.
          
          obviously i'm still going to upload new chapters here, once i get to rewriting chapter 6! so don't worry if you're not on ao3, you won't be missing out on those! but i'd highly reccommend checking out ao3 if you haven't because it's really nice!!! see ya :3

children of chaos is over 5 years old now
          i never dated the original draft, but i think the old chapter five was posted september 2019, so the first chapter was posted... jeez, it could have been sometime mid-july, but i suppose it might have been august...?
          since there's literally no way to pin down the exact date, i'll say the anniversary of children of chaos (as in, the notebook-paper first draft, the catalyst for an incredibly long journey of writing and pain) is july 13th.
          
          so happy late anniversary to the best idea i've ever had!

should i be working on children of chaos? yes
          am i writing a chilaios oneshot set in me and my friends' fnaf:sb au of dungeon meshi instead? also yes
          maybe this will get the creative juices flowing enough to start on the chapter 2 edit

oh man people are reading the latest chapter
          i was kind of expecting that most people who used to read children of chaos have all but abandoned it by now (and no shame to them! that's perfectly valid). i'm really excited that it's already gotten so many views and stuff!
          i have a lot of time on my hands and i'm in a better mental state than i have been since before the quarantine, so i'm expecting to stay pretty active on this account for the foreseeable long time

by the way, i will preserve all the old chapters! I'm planning on possibly uploading a copy of them as i go, mostly so i can compare my old chapters with my new ones.
          
          unfortunately the pre-first-rewrite versions of chapters 1 to 3 (and maybe 4) are lost to time, but i can upload the current versions of them when i change things
          
          there's also the firstest first version of Children of Chaos that exists solely as a stack of notebook paper stuffed inside a clipboard in my desk. it has spoilers right now, but when we get past everything i covered in it i'm planning to copy it over and upload it to make sure it's not lost
          
          i think it's important for authors to look back on their early works sometimes to see how they grew, and i think it can help aspiring writers not to get discouraged when they see other writers improving. everyone starts somewhere you know?

          that's like three entire pre-rewrite chapters all packed into one
          
          unsurprisingly, a lot happens, most of which absolutely did not happen in the pre-rewrite version
