No matter what my original intent is, I always write stories with strong women characters.   When writing Twice Loved at Armageddon in 2008, it took me over a week to admit to myself that it was a romance novel.

You see, I'm a guy.  I use my middle name Terry to confuse prospective agents--since some women use the same name.  Why do that?  Because agents nearly always discard romance manuscripts by men.

If an agent ever calls me to discuss my story, I hope she likes it enough to forgive me for not being a woman. 

Recent stories, Songs for Tamar and A Girl Redeemed, are my attempts to write from a female point of view.

My stories set in Bolahun,  Liberia always include  Holy Cross Mission as  I knew it during my Peace Corps teaching.  My characters are based on real people, and my experiences in West Africa are woven into my narratives.

The Spirit of the Forest Landai was intriguing. Early missionaries called them Bush Devils.
