Bald, twenty pounds overweight and stupid, that's me. Clearly my wife needs to get her eyes checked.

Hey, there, I'm Stuart R. West, multi-published author of YA and adult thrillers. My Tex the Witch Boy paranormal YA trilogy tackles relevant issues such as bullying, drugs, teen suicide, gay and lesbian issues, identity, suburban gangs, religion, and other hot-button topics, albeit in, I hope, an entertaining manner. No preaching allowed. They're the kinda' books I wished had been available to me as a teen. Adults and teens alike have raved about the series, wishing teachers taught them in school.

Now, you wouldn't think I'm the appropriate writer to detail the trauma, angst, heartbreak, friendships, love and joy of teenagers. But I remember high school only too well. Add to that my recently graduated daughter's tenure in the battle zone of high school highways, and I'm all over it.

My adult thrillers (Godland, Neighborhood Watch) expose the creepy underbelly of the Norman Rockwellian, heart-of-America facade of the Midwest. Supernatural elements abound, but it's the truly vile all-too-human villains that resonate. And are taken from today's headlines.

Writing the "three H's"--heart, humor and horror (an unlikely combination, granted, but irresistible to me as a writer), I hope to entertain, enthrall, maybe even enlighten.
